I thought I'd start up this thread a couple days early to get some conversation going. Gozips.com list the game as having television through Time Warner Cable Sports net, does anyone have any idea what this is? I have TWC but the game does not show up anywhere in the DVR.
I'm guessing we can expect a line from Vegas in the neighborhood of Akron getting 2 points to a Pk. I have a funny feeling this one comes down to the wire just like all the other MAC games thus far, and I like our odds in a close game as for once we seem to be the team that's comfortable down the stretch of a one or two possession game. Akron 76 Buffalo 73 -------------------- ![]() |

Buffalo is weak, but we haven't been playing well as of late. All 3 games were close, and I don't want to hear all this "Miami and BG are good teams". They both stink!
I say Akron loses by 10. -------------------- It's okay....we'll be better next year

I hope this is some sort of reverse jinx attempt. I have Akron winning by five. 75-70. -------------------- My middle name is Intelligence...OK, it's actually just Allen.

Buffalo is several levels above where BG and Miami are, but they aren't as good as Ohio. They are essentially a 3-man team of McCrea, Oldham, and Watt, but you have to watch out for Filzen on the perimeter.
They are an excellent rebounding team, and they get a lot of assists. They play very up-tempo. They are a lot like us, probably the most out of any team in the MAC. |

Local Buffalo channel, I believe. -------------------- Follow the MAC Report Online and J. Scott Fitzwater Twitter feeds.

I watched them dismantle Dayton in Dayton. They were VERY good. Getting out of New York with a win is less than a 50/50 proposition. Zips by 14.

I'm hoping this game tells us a lot about our team. Are we going to continue to be up and down from game to game? Or, are we on a steady path upward with the OU game being some sort of breakout point?
A victory by one point would be good enough for me at Buffalo. I just hope we can find a way to get it done. But, with this game sandwiched between OU and Ken+, I won't predict that we will be focused enough to play the kind of excellent road game we'll need to play to win this one. Buffalo by 7 is my prediction. But, if we do win this game, I think the great news looking forward is that we'll only have a few difficult road games left in MAC play, which dramatically increases our chances of being over 20 wins even before the end of the regular season. |

Harney plays >20 minutes, we win. Harney plays 20-or-less, Buffalo wins. Good Morning. I have complete faith in the Zips and I think they win big, 13 or more. Zips keep improving and I have no doubt they will get better and better. Now don't make me eat my words. I met Zeke in Chicago, ND game. He is so tall but then I am only 5 foot. He is such a gentleman. Go Zips beat Buffalo. |

The Bulls are far from weak, especially at their place. McCrea has a hell of a shot at playing in the NBA when he finishes up at UB |

Very tough road test. Especially with you know who on Saturday. I think the Zips will be ready for the test, 71-67 win.

Thanks for fixing the thread title. It's been confirmed that the Time Warner channel is NY market only. Why we advertise it as being televised, I dunno. Webcast is the way to go again...

Buffalo is going to be a tough out for us for one simple reason. Unlike most every other team in the conference, they have the horses to match up with us in the paint. McCrae and Watt are perfectly capable of going toe to toe with our frontcourt, which I maintain is the real strength of this team and coming out on top.
The problem for Buffalo, they have no depth. Titus Robinson is their only real big coming off the bench, and he isn't a whole lot to write home about. I don't expect the Zips to have too much trouble with Filzen who is mostly a 3 point specialist (92 of129 FG attempts this year from beyond the arch). The Zips defend the 3 as well as anyone in the conference, and they showed it against OU. Keeping the rotten meat (Oldham) in check could be the key to the game. I would look to see Diggs on him a lot more than Abreu as at 6'3" he is a tough matchup for the 5'10" Alex. I expect this one to go a lot like the last 3. Buffalo will lead early by as much as 8-10. The Zips depth will wear them down as it goes along. I'll say Zips by 5. |
