Solomon Wilcots: "Having Charlie Frye would you draft a QB with the 3rd pick"
Romeo Crennel: "We believe in competition and if there is a franchise QB available we're going to have to look at that" SW: "What mindset will you be in when you draft at the third spot in the draft" RC: "We will do whatever is best for the team in the long term" SW: "How did Frye improve last year" RC: "He was able to see down the field more, the game slowed down for him. Charlie's problem was too many turnovers" SW: "Going into camp, is it a wide open competition for QB" RC: "Right now Charlie has a leg up" SW" Do you think you need a veteran behind Charlie" RC: "I would like that, we are looking at FA right now, if it fits, we will pursue" SW "I hear Brady Quinn is touting himself to be a Brown, why do you think he wants to play for the Browns" RC: "Because he thinks he can come in here and play right away" SW: "You have another new offensive coordinator, what does that mean" RC: "Our QB needs to learn new terminology" (I kept this to Charlie based questions, but it was a great interview if you were a Browns fan. Sirius is interviewing a bunch of coaches, owners and GMs today since they are all there for the combine. If you are a fan of the NFL and can't listen to this, you are really missing out. The month leading up to the draft is the best time to listen) -------------------- ![]() "One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings"--Diogenes of Sinope |

I dont think it's possible. I'll avoid the NFL draft like the plague in april. I'm sure the team will once again completely ignore the more pressing needs (as they've done since they began playing in cleveland again) and draft a flameout skill position player. Brady Quinn would be an absolute disaster, the the guy folds up like a cheap suit -------------------- ![]() |

OFFENSIVE LINE, defensive line, defensive secondary. Did I mention OFFENSIVE LINE ??? We'll NEVER know what a QB truly is capable of doing until we FIX THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't a clue from his play so far whether or not he can be an NFL QB, but the Browns (C-L-O-W-N-S, if they draft a QB), have all of these more pressing needs before they draft a QB. |

People!!! You have to give Savage and Crennel some credit here. Romeo
has to play like they could possibly draft him because they want to have the option of trading the pick. If he says "No, we definitely don't want Brady" then that would be stupid- you don't give away your intentions to the other GM's. It's like a card game. Now if they DO take Brady, well, that IS just stupid. |

There is just no way that 2 QBs will go in the top 3 picks unless the Browns trade down. I think the Browns are just trying to market their pick so they can get a good deal for the 3rd spot in the draft. I saw that last year they made several good moves by trading down and looking at that draft class, they got good deals. |

You know EXACTLY what your pick is worth. Watching this throughout the years, it is almost dead on. If you look at this you will see why it will be so hard to trade into the 3 spot. Why would anyone wish going to the Browns on any Zip? I hope AA goes to a real NFL team so he has the chance to grow his career and win something like Dwight Smith did.

As a lifelong Zips and Browns fan, I always want to see the teams that I support improve. I am not happy at the Browns' plight nor the position that they place themselves in each draft. But as an avowed "homer", while not blind to reality, I make no apologies for my view. That said, I believe that Andy Alleman could help to improve them. Simply put, if Andy does well, I would like to see him do well in a Browns uni. I will root for him anywhere, as I do for all of the Zips in the NFL. And no "wishing" him anywhere will make a difference. He will obviously go where he will go. Go Zips!! |
