According to the Mountain West board, the starting DE from Colorado State is transferring to the Zips to follow his position coach.

Thanks to a certain poster for the scoop! wave.gif

Well I suppose the distance between Akron and Florida is less than the distance between Ft Collins and Florida.

Don't know how long this link will last, but here's his profile from the CSU Athletics site:

Looks like he was a solid contributor for them. He should help us, big time.

Serious, indeed. It almost looks like he might be responsible for dispatching that unfortunate bird in your sig pic. cool.gif

Have to assume he will sit out this year.

Still, getting a starter from another FBS team can only help, especially when the current number of players we have who could start on another FBS team doesn't seem very large.

I don't think he is sitting out. He is a senior and this article indicates he was released.

Released by CSU, but an NCAA waiver is required to be able to play immediately.

The CSU release just means that he is released from scholarship and doesn't have to pay his own way while he sits out.

Looks like he played as a true freshman so your right this could be his red shirt year.

Maybe he's taken a lot of summer classes and graduated early. In that case, he would be able to play this year. That's probably wishful thinking though.

CJ James played the last three seasons at Colorado State and will utilize his redshirt to sit out 2012 due to NCAA transfer guidelines.

Yep - he has to sit out this year. He is practicing, attending all meetings etc.. Just cannot play in a game.

Well at least he'll give a great look preparing our o-line on scout team every week.
