I am hoping that Akron gets their first Nit home game and the University does everything possible to fill the jar. There were 10,000 people at the Q last night and I am estimating around 7,000 Akron fans. We need to get these fans to the jar and create some excitement.
Akron should run the same promotion as the MAC tournament, free admission with an expired Ohio lottery ticket or some other offer from a local merchant and have the lower bowl at $10 a ticket. The last time we hosted a tournament game the attendance was terrible and the team was flat. It is time to get the Ohio game behind us and think Big Apple |

Even Coach D has said it probably won't happen. -------------------- Zip go the Zippers! |

Yeah, remember the guys in charge of seeding the NIT Tournament are the same guys that left us completely out of the NIT when we were 26-7 with the conference MVP on the roster. Why would they give an Akron team that is 22-11 a top four seed? Not saying it isn't deserved but the "good ol' boys club" that is in charge of such things is not likely to let Akron be in position to get a home game unless both the Zips and another bottom 4 seed team pull off upsets in the same part of the bracket.

Maybe at home game at Northwestern... Too soon... I think a home game is definitely a possibility only because of our RPI. Then again, they would find a way to screw us. -------------------- "There's Super Zip... right there. NIT-ology (http://nitology.com/) does have you guys as a #4 seed, so you might get that home game. I'll be pulling for you guys and all the other MAC teams in whatever postseason tournaments they end up in.

You guys deserve a home game. What pisses me off is Illinois is in the NIT. They finished the year 2-12 for Bruce Weber. That is Big Ten BS all the way! |

a home game in the NIT will draw a few hundred more than a home game in the CBI...no one gives a crap about the NIT.

That same site had us as a 3 seed in the NIT the year we were 26-7 and got left out all together. I am thinking we will be a 6 or 7 seed, that should be low enough to assure we don't get a home game but are still competitive. |

I could see us getting a 4, but i think youre right and we'll end up with a 6 seed. But if nitology is right we would be hosting Illinois at home which would be a very cool game to watch. |

I predicted before the season started that we would beat Dayton this season. Odds are the game will be there.
