This one still scares me a little, but with three big games following it, it is pretty much a must have. Crawford didn't play well against us last time, but Cameron Black did. While I think BGSU has a pretty good shot at upsetting Can't at the Stroh, I think we hold serve at the JAR. Zips 76 BGSU 67.

I'll split the difference and go with the Zips by 14.

Zips are currently 7 point favorites. BG has certainly improved over the course of the season. I'm expecting a battle, with the Zips depth once again prevailing behind big games from Chauncey and Q.

If I had a vote for MAC coach of the year and had to vote today, Louis Orr would probably get my vote . I think he gets just about all he can out of his team. The best word I can use to describe them would probably be "pesky". It's just tough to make them go away.

Akron 65
BG 60

Todd K over at Toledo has to be another strong candidate for coach of the year. The improvement in the Rockets from Dec to Feb has been almost scary. It's tough for guys like Keith to win this award because so much is expected of us every year. I do think he deserves strong consideration for his work with this YOUNG team. I'd be curious to read other's opinions on coach of the years as well

That's been the popular number. Why not?

This is a little off topic of the sport of basketball, but has to do with Bowling Green:

RE: MAC Coach of the Year

If, and it's a BIG IF, the Zips win their next 4 games, they'd finish with a 15-1 conference record. That would be the best record in the MAC since Can't went 17-1 in the 2001-2002 season.

If that happens and KD doesn't win the award, then I'll apply for official membership in the Conspiracy Against Akron Club. wink.gif

Lets just hope that since the MAC title is now just two Home wins away, that our guys will come out with a little extra fire tonight. This team has lacked consistent effort for 40 minutes pretty much all season long. With the light at the end of the tunnel now beaming right in their faces, it's time for that all-out effort.

The Zips are bigger down low, deaper off the bench, and just flat out more talented. Akron runs away with this one...

Regardless of the outcome, I'll always remember this quote from KD - "...after the game if you lose by 29 or by five, it's still just one loss. [You] have to learn from it." We as fans must remember this, too, when it comes to showing up at games and supporting our Zips...
