No attack .. just an observation. You on the other hand? Nice response. Mine is an observation as well. You are a douchebag. Nice response. -------------------- "...you want it to be one way. But it's the other way." --Marlo Stanfield, The Wire

Guys, this really sounds like something that needs to be taken care of with the PM feature.

Guys, this really sounds like something that needs to be taken care of with the PM feature. The PM feature is lame. I think the overreaction to a very mild post about the game yesterday was odd and filled with a lot of pent up anger. I have been more than supportive of the BB team this year and I think they can do much better than what they did yesterday. They have a lot of talented players and should do better than what they did yesterday. I think KD is in agreement. I will continue to call them as I see them, not as others think they should be seen. I hope that ZW's response to my post does not make any other posters hesitant to express their views on this board even if they may be different than the mainstream. At this point it seems entirely clear that the beef is between you and ZW and has nothing to do with the rest of us or the Zips in general. It see no need for it to be aired out publicly on this forum. |

I didn't get to see the game yesterday, so read this with that in mind. IMO there is no excuse for a loss like this...BUT, I'll offer this, I have watched some of my favorite teams where I wish they would have lost a game so they can address the problems that exist. Sometimes a narrow victory hides your problems and a coach continues on without changes because the team won. Maybe this early loss will cause some change that will make them a better team in March.

Losing like this might also expose some complacency on the part of the champs. Even had they held on to the lead and coasted home for a 15 point win, the D was bad yesterday. It needs work .. and the commitment demonstrated by players will define the rotations in the weeks to come. Dare I call it as I saw it? "Crapping" all the way....
What an absolute awful way to start the season! Will the Zips improve over the course of the season? Of course! Last year proved that point and it cost me. It's a long season. The non-conference games are there for a reason. To win games, build a resume for the selection committees and to find your rotation. We failed on two of the three. Last year we started out slow in the MAC- Dambrot adjusted the rotation and we steadily improved. How many games will it take this year? A part of the reason that KD has had some "sucess" making the MAC finals three staight years is also a major reason we fail in games like this? The large rotation and no go-to guy helps at times and is a detriment at times. If you have two QB's of equal ability, typically you have two "second" teamers. If we have a solid rotation of 10 guys, do we have a strong bench or do we have two "second" teams? Yes the defense was off... Especially the guy that got burnt three straight times by # 22 late in the game. But enough with the we miss Linhart already. Guys graduate every year.... I realize it was the first game and KD is looking for a rotation..Here a hint..Humpy and Nik should play major minutes... Everyone else can fight over the other 130 minutes. I realize it was the first game, but you just cannot lose that game. Unexcuseable! I hope that wasn't too much lipstick. |

This is where I really wish that popcornmachine.net did college games .. because I'd like to see everyone's +/- for the game. It might be telling. Because you asked (and I'm a stats loser), here's what I got: Disclaimer: No guarantees on results (used excel formulas and the final result I got was -9 instead of -3) Bardo: +3 Carroll: -6 Conyers: -6 Cvetinovic: -5 Hitchens: +5 Marshall: +35 McClanahan: -21 B. McKnight: -2 C. McKnight: -6 McNees: +7 Roberts: -7 -------------------- "Sometimes a thorough ass-kicking cleanses your soul, and sometimes that’s what your team needs."

McKnight: -2 C. McKnight: -6 McNees: +7 Roberts: -7 Thanks for the effort .. pretty interesting stuff. I've often wanted to get a programmer going to have Gameflow's at ZipsNation .. seems like it should be pretty straightforward, given the availability of the play by plays. Maybe there's a Computer Science student with an interest in basketball that could program it up for us? I got a +24 for Zeke when I scanned it this morning. Either number is HUGE .. that big of a +/- is generally uncommon. Shows he was a real impact player yesterday .. even if we all already knew it. Go Zips!! -------------------- In case you missed it: The glory years for Zips hoops are NOW .. and they've just begun.

We should just run a penalty killing line with Zeke, Humpty, Bardo and McNees. Short handed goals galore!

All civil forums have rules against such fundamental things as trolling, personal attacks and making derogatory remarks related to race and religion. It's the duty of moderators to enforce those rules by issuing warnings and penalties to those who cross the line. When the moderators are lax in rules enforcement, the unruly become emboldened. The cumulative effect of ever more questionable posts that are allowed by the moderators to stand makes any forum a less friendly place for all.
Public criticism is ineffective against posters who believe they are so great that they can say or do no wrong. If someone breaks the rules, they should be dealt with in a fair and reasonable manner according to the rules that apply to all. Sometimes that's a tough judgment call that moderators need the wisdom and fortitude to deal with promptly and appropriately before the situation degenerates. Wikipedia has a good definition to help both moderators and forum members isolate the troublemakers: A troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. If forum members personally believe that someone is consistently breaking the fundamental rules of civility, and for whatever reason the moderators choose not to take appropriate action, each of us has the freedom to add that poster to our Ignored Users list and make that poster cease to exist. |

i have to agree with the other poster in that gp just stirs the pot.he waits for akron to lose on game, and then comes in
attacking k.d.when the zips start winning then you disapper.you never have anything good to say about k.d. or the team. unfortunately more people than just me have seen this pattern.zips win -you run and hide.they lose one game and the k.d. is a bad coach ect.ect.ect. if akron starts winning a few games you will hide for ahwile.if they lose to n.c. state you will say kd needs to go.for some reason you do not like k.d. i am not sure what the reason is, but it seems to be personell. |
