Team A-Z is 98-1-1, what is done with the tie? My math is not real good and WAAAAYYYY in the past, but I figure the winning percentage is .99, Right? I suppose the tie is ignored.

Ties are not ignored - they count as both half a win and half a loss, so in your example the adjusted winning perecentage would be 98.5/100 matches = .985 winning percentage. If the ties were ignored it would be 98/99 or a .989 winning percentage. The Zips right now are 9-1-2 so they have a 10/12 adjusted winning percentage of .833. If the ties were ignored, it would be .900. So the ties help and hurt as it should be.
