Reading this really saddened me, and made me realize my age. Giorgio Chinaglia, even moreso than the more famous Pele' was the greatest player in the NASL. Hard to imagine that that team had Pele, Chinaglia and Franz Beckenbauer together! I recall that in the final NASL Soccer Bowl championship game former Zip Benny Dargle of the Seattle Sounders was assigned to shadow Chinaglia, and defended him well until very late, when Giorgio put in the game winner.
