Coaching decisions at Akron and Ohio bode well for Mid-American Conference basketball

Terry Pluto talks about Dambrot staying at Akron, and Christian coming back to the MAC. He also talks with / about Senderhoff and Waters. It was a good read.

I found it interesting Christian and KD were talking during the Duquesne thing...

"Keith has done a fantastic job," said Christian. "We talked [during Duquesne's recruitment of Dambrot]. I mentioned that there are a lot of different things to think about, not just the money. I talked about that if I had to go back four years and make the [TCU] decision again ... well, he knew the answer."

I couldn't agree more with this quote from KD.

"The MAC needs to get to a place where it doesn't lose coaches to TCU or Bradley," said Dambrot, referring to Geno Ford leaving Can't State for Bradley in 2011. "It's one thing to lose [Ohio's John Groce] to Illinois for $1.5 million, but we should be able to keep some of our coaches from leaving for other high mid majors."
