It took 335 days for the Akron fans to begin to call for the heads of the Akron Football Staff.
It took 106 years to get to the first bowl game, which was 335 days ago. Wonder how long it will take for the fan base to turn on Dambrot if he does not win the MAC Tournament this year after being anointed as the runaway favorite?

There is a big difference beween not living up to expectations, and sucking.
This year we sucked. Too many penalties, bad calls, and bad coaching. -------------------- Half Buck, Half Zip, All Man.

Expectations for the football team was big because they were defending a title with return players. Basketball did not win a title last year, I don't believe the expectations are the same. Two different scenarios!

 actually the Zips have played in "bowl" games or playoff games before last year...they were "college" division or DII but they have several "playoff" appearances...one was against a guy by the name of Bradshaw...ya Terry>>> thats what is frustrating for some of us...we can actually remember when these guys won on a regular basis... by the way,the first Blizzard Bowl wasn't last year...it was a 1976 playoff game at the Bowl

YEP, against orthern Mich, which may have had the current Misch St. BB coach, Izzo played at No. Mich (football) & is about the right age.
With ball ammunition lock and load.  And of course

Anyone who says we are turning on our coaches just doesn't get it. This football team played way below their ability. To accept their performance is to accept mediocrity and possibly sub-standard play. Can anyone say Lee Owens era? That's true mediocrity.
We can, should and must do better. The talent and facilities are there. Let's not lower our standards or expectations because some posters don't know how to evaluate performance. |
