Drum Corps International is starting the 2012 season with Innovations in Brass at Infocision Stadium.

The 2012 Drum Corps International Tour will get started on Saturday, June 16 in Akron, Ohio, featuring a lineup of East Coast and Midwestern corps including the Blue Stars, Bluecoats, Cadets, Carolina Crown, Cavaliers and Phantom Regiment.

Following last year’s successful June theater broadcast which brought the kickoff event of the summer season to 436 movie theaters across the country and an audience of more than 23,000, DCI’s “2012 Tour Premiere” is currently scheduled to be recorded live in Akron and aired in theaters the following Monday.

Just ran across a cool website. Has aerial photos from 1952, 2002, and 2006. If you center it on the UA campus and turn on the compare slider it's amazing to see the transformation from 1952 to 2006. Heck, it's impressive to see 2002 to 2006. Historic Aerials

I had to sit in at a meeting today as a representative for my student group. Halfway through the day they brought in a guy from athletics who handed out a card and talked about a new rewards system for students attending games. Basically, you go to sporting events, you swipe your card, you get free stuff. Here's what it says on the card:

5 Points - Football, Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball
10 Points - Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, Women's Basketball, Softball
