  2. Do you really think the big 5 will come to an agreement and only schedule themselves? I find this hard to believe within the next five years. And if they do, I predict it will last for about 5 years.... At some point 25 of the 65 teams will get tired of having a losing record every year and then will be begging to join a conference similar to the MAC. The money will be nice for a while, but then when Purdue consistently draws 22,000 fans a game going 2-10 every year, things will change.

  3. Read again. They want soccer to play fall and spring. I think it's a great idea. I assume in the north the season would take December January and February off, with the teams playing once a week (which would allow more time for school, and make the game crisper. The pros don't often play twice a week very often). Play non-conference in the fall and conference play in the spring. It would also open up northern schools being able to host the College Cup. The south wouldn't always get home field advantage.
