  1. Boy I sure hope they leave room on the new scoreboard for "The DIFF". God knows I wouldn't want to actually have to do any math..

  2. We are all cheering for him, I think. He has demonstrated a great attitude and a team first mentality. I hope this turns into redemption for him

  3. I used to be one of the larger Hustlebelt advocates I feel, but I feel the quality has dropped significantly as of late. There are new people running it I believe and some of the old guys broke off and created something new. I think the twitter account is called MAC Prospectus. Not sure what their end goal is but they tweet recruiting updates regularly. I did see that Hustlebelt is looking for writers @Balsy

  4. I heard they re-branded as "Cascadia's Polytechnic University". Do they have a new President? Scar, something??

  5. WOW. A little in-depth reporting from GT. Amazing. And I will be Chapman's biggest fan if he's really taken that attitude into his "demotion" to WR.

  6. A great example of how "star ratings" can really miss the mark. Yes, his first stint as a starter (2015) was a disaster. I'll give him credit for the 2nd half performance to beat Kent in 2016. There might have also been some spotty gadget plays where he picked up some nice gains on the ground in the wildcat or read-option. Other than that, his expectations as a QB turned out to be a major disappointment. I'll be happy if we can salvage something more significant out of this last year of his career. I hope he's working hard to be a productive receiver, and might even have a few big plays left in him.

  7. Wasn't he the starter his first season eligible before he lost it due to being ineffective? Didn't he start about half of the games last season? Him not contributing a lot is due to him being a not very good QB. Pitt, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, among others thought he was good enough to play QB. If he was WR, would he have even played over Natson, Wolf, or Lane last season? I hope he does great this year. I'm not going to predict that he has been misused off of a video of him running a route though nor am I going to hold it against the coaching staff as he was given his chance at QB and got plenty of run there last season even as a backup. Based on what we've seen on the field, he isn't quite as talented as what many thought.

  8. All I know is this. . . We have a very athletic player who is now a Senior who has not contributed a whole lot. Seems like an incredible waste of talent. How many times have you heard a coach say about a talented player "we gotta find a way to get him on the field"? We didn't find a way. Better late than never, I guess.

  9. No disrespect nor an ethnic slur, but this name must be like our "John Smith"s

  10. Not a surprise for Zips fans: "The play of the day was undrafted free agent quarterback Phillip Walker hooking up with fellow undrafted wide receiver JoJo Natson for a deep touchdown." http://m.colts.com/news/article-1/Practice-Two-Training-Camp-Notebook-Scott-Tolzien-Wide-Receivers-Better-On-Day-Two--/6475dfd8-7d9d-48cc-8fd9-2058b4d827b6

  12. Hustlebelt is focused on the MAC as a whole, but there's also UBBullRun and OverThePylon, which are also SBNation sites dedicated to Buffalo and Ball State, respectively. If any Zips fan is hoping to get their feet wet in journalism, starting an Akron SBNation site and gathering a few contributors to ensure regularly posted content would probably be the easiest avenue, since it creates an instant partnership with the other MAC SBNation sites. I know there is at least one Zips fan that is already a regular Hustlebelt contributor.
