Lets hope that's what happens. Or, you'll be saying this all over again next February.3 points

Jeremiah Wood in a heart beat. Treadwell would be in Groce's dog house by the second week of practice.2 points

Nick Harney. Sorry, couldn't help myself. I've thought all season Antino would have done well under Groce. Two others that come to mind were knuckleheads who limited their Zips' careers- Treadwell and Diggs.2 points

Everything you read there has been/will be firmly sourced. Trying to fill a void we have with UA-related reporting. Treon was on campus today.2 points

JT is a coach at Saint Thomas Aquinas. I'm not sure if you are familiar or not, but they are probably without a doubt a top 3 high school program in the country.1 point

Groce had some head cases at OU and Illinois, equal to or greater than Tree or Diggs. Their problems were off the court, but when they were on the court they went 100% and had an edge we've seen none of from this squad. Diggs also had the heart to work his way back to the team as I recall.1 point

Be careful what you wish for. "What we do know is Antino Jackson, the senior point guard who was suspended for one game for an unspecified team rules violation, practiced Thursday and it appears likely he will be back on the court, though not as a starter, against the Spartans. Weir will not say what Jackson did to warrant the suspension and would not comment when the Journal asked if it had to do with a physical altercation with a teammate." https://www.abqjournal.com/1128092/lobos-expect-at-least-one-player-back-soon.html1 point

Wandered over to Stile after the B-ball game went south yesterday and caught some Track and Field action. Disappointed to learn Kwads is out with an injury. Talked with Jamal Baggett a little and said it wasn't serious but Smith was going to wait until Spring. Don't know if that means track in the Spring or football, or both. Also learned Letulli is not on the T & F squad this year, working in the weight room to be ready for football come Spring.1 point

After watching the debacle that was the Zips vs. Toledo basketball game yesterday, wandered into Stile Field House and watched the finals of the Akron Invitational Track meet. A needed pick-me-up. To say Coach Mitchell and staff have their hands full to rebuild this squad is fair. Only a few bright spots, not as deep as past teams. Lucy Bryan, who I referred to as a "beast" earlier was all of that yesterday setting a new school record in the Pole Vault. Mackenzie Andrews had a solid win in the 800. Cody Stine cleared 7' in his High Jump win. Matt Ludwig took the men's Pole Vault, and is #2 in the nation at this point. Abby Wilson is getting stronger int he throws and won the discus and the shot. Phil Jagers won the discus and the weight throw. Jackie Siefring won the pentathalon with the #2 best performance indoors in the nation this year. All good stuff. But not a lot of depth on this year's team which will probably cost them the MACs, atleast on the women's side. Lots of youngsters, but that's okay. This staff always "coaches 'em up" with the best of them. And speaking of "minor" sports - the Swimming and Diving team got their first ever National NCAA ranking last week, breaking into the Top 25! There is life near the JAR right now, just not in it!1 point

yes. you know things are going badly for us this year when we are dreaming of players past, and I'm ready to start a digressing argument about what "blue collar" means in relation to college basketball.1 point

This is potentially a very big story. You would think that intrepid Zips beat reporter at 44 E. Exchange would be all over this. Uh, never mind.1 point

A new OC would be a blessing. Continuing the local connection, I have watched Tim Tyrell at Hoban for the last three years. He is a head coach who also acts as the OC. You can not prepare for everything he can do. He is creative while playing to the strengths and abilities of his team. Colleges have started to float offers his way and Hoban knows it is just a question of time before he goes. I believe he would make a great addition to Terry's staff and be a huge improvement as a play caller.1 point

Could you imagine our futbol program being limited to Ohio? For that matter, could you imagine Zips futbol being limited to the United States? ?1 point
