  1. What a waste of our Great Defense this season

  2. Went to the game last week. Felt like I watched the same game this week. This offense sucks. When Kato threw the last interception he looked confused at the line of scrimmage. HIs back had to tap him to hike the ball. Too many dropped balls, bad penalties and ref calls that killed us. I wish they would give Kato an easy check down pass to a back when nothing is open. Kato is best when he gets rid of the ball quickly. We need to make adjustments on defense. How many times did their QB run for a first down on third down. This looks like a long season!!

  3. The zips weren’t picked to be any good even with a decent defense, this was mentioned at the beginning of the season. The OC has to keep the offense generic because the offense is real young and he has no o-line or running back. Dont be to upset because you have a good coaching staff who’s willing to develop remedial footballers.

  4. time to turn this one off.

  5. Not sure how that's a catch. Zips don't deserve to win, but 3 tough calls have made it even harder.

  6. I'd fire Milwee instantly after that 3rd down play call. 3rd and 4, you fake the pass for a massively delayed handoff that was perfectly timed to be completed once the backfield was completely full of Bulls. Ridiculous.

  8. Wasn't really motivated to comment this season. But,I buy 2 season tix and have been for 20+ years. This season is in the dumper again. Please no talk about some meaningless bowl game. It has been obvious for years that the lack of consistent offensive production has been the problem in the Bowden/Milwee era.If TB is not willing to ditch Milwee and TB's brother at the end of this season or sooner then the AD needs to call in whatever favors he has and buy them out! If the Zips lose to Kent, which now is possible, its over for this regime. TB got the program to a certain level. It appears he has hit the wall. Kind of like the Indians and Francona.

  10. At swim meet. Turned on during break and could tell right away by Frechie’s tone how it was going. At least getting to see some Zips excel...

  11. Larry Williams hit a homerun in hiring John Groce. And Larry's a football man. I trust he'll hit a homerun for the football program as well.

  12. Why is Kato still in? Why not let Ramart get his feet wet?

  13. This defense is incredibly good.

  14. Too many designed QB runs. Kato isn’t that effective.

  15. First of all, the ref was literally RIGHT THERE and had an unobstructed line of sight. Second, there is no angle or way for anyone to see "undisputed evidence" that the foot was all in bounds from this. This is not a human mistake bad call...this is beyond that!

  16. Somewhat fortunate to only allow 10 with as much as Jackson has made happen with his feet. 1 rushing yard before today so I don't think we were anticipating that. Hopefully we see some adjustments to contain in the 2nd half and shut them down. Offense needs to find something though

  17. changes need made at QB, RB, and possibly OC. This is bad.

  18. Based on Kato's body language after that failed 3rd down attempt, I'm not liking our odds of a fire even getting lit, let alone fueled. This offense is very, very hard to watch. And that's putting it nicely. Our outstanding defense is being wasted each week aside from Northwestern - also won by our defense.

  19. anytime you can run a swing pass on 3rd and 10 to your power back you gotta do it.

  20. That 4th down call reversal was a complete miscarriage of instant replay.

  27. Watching the two scrimmages this summer it was clear why Kato was the QB of choice for the starter spot. In scrimmage #1 Kato was out of control, got briefly demoted, and Ramart came in and stole the show. In in the second scrimmage Kato was in control and his elite athleticism was evident. I thought “If this guy can show up every week, and continue to get better, look out MAC.” Kato still hasn’t proven he can show up every week, and we can’t beat a decent team when he doesn’t. We held on to Tre Chapman at QB too long. He was a great athlete but not a D1 QB. If Kato can’t figure it out this week, we need to move on to plan B. Ramart isn’t the elite athlete that Kato is, but neither was Frye. We need someone with pocket poise, and who can hit open receivers. We beat Northwestern a couple weeks ago, so Buffalo doesn’t scare me. We need to play with poise and purpose and we’re fine. That starts at the QB position.

  28. I think the coaches have allowed Kato to hold onto the ball too long, because he can make plays, at times. When Woody was first a starter, it was look for the first two receivers and run. Kato might benefit a little from that. Yes, it wont fix his mechanics, but might prevent some of his mistakes and he might find a rhythm easier if he is picking up yardage with his feet. I think Ramart can do the same thing. He might not have the big yardage ability with his feet, but Ben Roethlisberger has not made a career being fast, but when he tucks it and runs, he is effective. I do think that Buffalo is actually a favorable match-up for us and am expecting a good game. If I made 3 changes it would be to start Wolfely over Willams, not throw to MTB and move him back to HB, and give more Carries to Deltron. I think you have to give Kato one more half, or at least the first quarter. We won't have Alvin this week and that will be a big loss for us.

  29. I hope Deltron is able to get some carries this week. He was dressed last week, but I'm not sure he was available to play. Not that this is an accurate injury list, but he doesn't appear on it. I wish someone asked about him during the press conference this week.

  30. No major changes; NIU is technically still the front runner in the MAC West by virtue of having 3 MAC games already and winning them all. Eastern is effectively eliminated barring a miracle, they will be statistically eliminated soon. For the Zips...they HAVE to win this week against buffalo, or they basically will have to go undefeated and get some help from other teams. I'm not holding my breath.
