  2. DePaul tries to recruit Chicago, Illinois tries to recruit Chicago, Marquette tries, Notre Dame tries, the national blue bloods like Duke and UNC try.. it's a lot easier said than done to "build a fence around Chicago" if you're a MAC team

  4. I guess that's that. What a welching SOB. He goes wherever it's the lowest standard of living.

  5. New coach and losing their top four players? Buffalo returns to MAC level basketball again. League has suddenly become wide open again.

  7. What player with a long list of options would ever choose to play for NIU? In just the state of Illinois alone, I'd place their basketball program behind Bradley, Depaul, Illinois State, Illinois, Loyola, Northwestern, and Southern Illinois. Heck even UIC might be a more attractive place for a player since it's actually in Chicago. NIU went all in on football neglecting their basketball program. It's why they're so far down on the totem pole in basketball. What they really need to have some success is find under the radar talent that fell through the cracks. It's hard to find that talent in an area as heavily recruited as Chicago.

  13. If they want to start fixing things, a drop to FCS should be next -- with most of the MAC

  14. Akron continues to get bigger and bigger. Should they see the success of these bigger, more athletic recruits, Akron & Buffalo will separate themselves from the MAC and many other mid-majors.
