Sitting here thinking how in past years I'd be sitting here planning my day around heading down to the JAR to watch our Zips take on some branch campus of some southern state university. Damn. Ugh. Heck, I'd even take a warmup against the Concord Grapes right now.

I agree that as a whole, every team is bigger, faster, stronger, and more athletic. However, we should have pockets and groups of players that are bigger and faster. Look at Miami today, we should have had several groups that are faster, but we were not prepared. I agree that the firing of Arth is a wasted emotion. It was a frustrated 30 minutes of a lack of coaching and preparation.

Pathetic. Highlight of today was seeing that Buffalo put up 70 on the Golden Flushes. How about that karma Can't? ?

There are many psychological studies that good looking people are more likely to be hired for a job. If Tom Arth wasn't tall, handsome, with that nice catholic school pedigree...I wonder where he would be today.

One of the announcers for today's game said that there was a lot of excitement among Zip fans when Arth was hired. I must have missed that.

I have been an Arth supporter since day 1, but today has changed me. The team is not prepared in any way. Offense and defense is not ready for anything, even with being short on talent. And, I question the short on talent today. Look at the size and speed of the Miami players making plays, while the Zips sit there and do nothing. I know several people who did not like Arth at John Carroll, and thought they set back their sons. Now, I am agreeing. My comments are as follows: Fire Arth

I think Miami’s starter was out against Buffalo and that was a large part of the reason they scored so few against them. If we get the back up, we might have a chance. If Gabbert is back, I’m probably realistically hoping for just looking competitive against them, though like B&G said, we did play them very tough last season so you never know. Going with my heart and taking Zips +14.5 today!

I sincerely think we can win today. (I hope I'm not jinxing the team.) We played Miami tough last year so our team (defense) will come into the game with a lot of confidence. Keep feeding Dollard and control TOP. Use Gibson to keep Miami's D honest. Keep Miami's offense off the field. Miami's defense has been able to stop neither Ball State (giving up 31 points), nor Buffalo (42 points). While Miami's offense hung 38 points on Ball State, they were held to 10 points by Buffalo. I still don't know what to expect from our young team, but again, I think we can get the W today. Go Zips!
