There's enough chatter about Zip Baseball (and alumni) to warrant a yearly thread. IMHO. Yes there's at least six inches of snow on the ground at the moment, but college baseball is a month away. This season the ball team makes a trip to warmer weather (Tennessee and Georgia) for the first couple weeks. Then a weekend in Louisville before getting into MACtion. Throw in a couple games against BW, Malone, and as zippy-claws mentioned, a Monday night game at Canal Park against Georgia Tech and we have 15 non-conference games, 55 games in all. All depending on how COVID continues to shred the sports schedules. The Zips in the Pros. The latest rumors have Chris Bassett being traded to the Yankees, a favorite to win the AL East. No rumblings yet about a JT trade, but here's a nice article on Fansided to read while waiting for the snow plows to clear the streets.

Un-effing-believable. This team ain't going anywhere this year. Every other team seems a lot more interested in hustling and winning.

Garvin Clarke is a problem.

I like Aziz's potential and hustle, but he's a little uncoordinated lol. Both him and Enrique are being pretty physical with #22. May get a little chippy.

He took over a family business I believe. Left on good terms.

The situation does not look promising for them. With the number of D1 scholarships being offered to high schoolers dramatically reduced by the portal, the odds of one being offered to a zero star athlete (I know stars don't matter) are not good.

I would really like to see them finally get off to a good start and have a healthy lead at the half so that they can work on some things in the second half. Groce has referred to Trimble as an elite shooter in the past. They say that shooters have to shoot their way out of slumps but it's painful to watch when he's in one.

I think there's a "the grass is greener" aspect to the portal, with 20 year old kids making hasty decisions thinking they're going to a better place where they'll be more appreciated. At 57 I certainly have a different perspective than a college kid. If I was a legitimate D1 football player at UA from the Arth era (I'd be in the minority. LOL) my thought would be that this is a program to soon be on the upswing with legitimate coaches that could help my future with immediately available playing time. Stay and flourish rather than relocate with uncertainty.

I should turn it on at 7 and miss the first hour to balance out having turned on the PCCC game at 7 for it only to be at 8. Doh!
