Sounds like an awesome event. I cant wait to hear more about it!

This I know: April 14th.. This I'll guess: Eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, tea, juice. Bobby, Jeff and Terry are there and possible speak. Somebody that knows more can correct my errors.
I see they are charging for the event and that makes me smile. We are finally growing up.
I would sell corporate tables, but that's just me. Maybe even sell food and beverage sponsorships, but that's just me. Maybe even give away reuseable bags filled with little Zipslike items...bags of course sponsored by a company and have their company logo on it...but that's just me. It's not about what is in the bag (a sleeve of golf balls and a t-shirt would be enough) as much as a bag with the sponsors name on it and the school logo that can be reused for whatever reason the owner wants to use it...but that's just me talking crazy.

Am I reading that correctly? They raised priority reserved to $250 a ticket plus a $100 donation per?

I have good news for Zipgrad01 and bad news for Zach.
The figures in parentheses indicate that this PORTION of the total cost will go toward the Z-Fund. Thus, priority reserved seating (on the West/Press Box side) is only slightly more expensive ($250 versus $235) than last year.
I'm really glad they created a priority reserve section on the East side (lower cost justified by the sun, being on the away side etc.), since it always seemed goofy that you could get a GA ticket and sit on the 50 yard line over there.
Parking in a preferred lot may be more of an issue. We'll have to stay tuned on that.

In typical, UA Athletic Dept fashion, the parking information is not clear. The term "general lot" is nowhere to be found on the Football Gameday Central parking map. If they're referring to the $5 public parking lots, then why don't they use that reference or change the parking map to use the "general lot" term?

Family plan went up quite a bit too. I had it for $150 last year being on year 3, but I thought it was $180 or $200. Looks to be $240 now...wow!
Look...I get the Bowden excitement. But this is still 3 years in new stadium with 5 total wins.

The price is not going up on anyone renewing their season tickets from last year, except for those who were still receiving the bridge campaign price from the first year of the stadium.

The $250 for a Priority reserved includes the $100 donation to the Z-Fund. Even though they raised the price by $15, they are now giving you a $30 food voucher. The way I see it is that it is a net reduction of $15 per ticket. Seems like a good deal to me.

I don't know how the food at The Big Dialer compares to the Rubber Bowl. If is the same food, my guess is not many people would take the risk of using the full $30.

I actually hope only season ticket holders and students be allowed. We need to sell all of the season tickets we can, so we need to give fans all the incentives we can to buy them. Free gifts, and exclusive perks the single game buyers won't get.

I'm interested to see how well tickets have been selling so far. There's obviously no waiting list or fans camping out to buy them, but I sure hope there is a bit of an increase. Anyone hear anything yet? I'm still trying to decide if I want to pick some up or not. I live over two hours away, and it's a bit of a gamble since you never know how the team will be performing.

Buy them!!! Support the team, and I promise you that you will enjoy watching the product on the field. I've said this many times already, but Coach Bowden does not know how to lose. There will be marked improvement - the energy, enthusiasm and attitude change in everyone will be very obvious from the first day of spring ball.

Well he's in Akron now, he might have to get used to losing. Aside from our soccer team we haven't had much luck in the winning department.

Here we go again. Whoa is me, Northeast Ohio sports.
Winning has to begin somewhere. We've finally hired a head football coach who knows the game and brings a winning tradition with him. Be optimistic. Jump on the "bandwagon" and help him out. Yeah, it could possibly be a slow start given from where he has to build, but I believe he'll do it and we'll all be discussing how to get to Mobile or Boise in the near future. Stop dissing our soccer success when someone brings it up. Even if you don't like the game, you have to respect Coach Porter for the attitude that he brought to Akron...It CAN be done at Akron. This is Akron. We Akron alumni and long-time fans need to give up the apathy/pessimism and do our part and be proud like Caleb Porter, Keith Dambrot, Dr. Proenza, Terry Bowden, ...

Well said. And it applies to the whole city, not just to UA. Having lived in several other parts of the country over the years, I wish more Akronites would come to appreciate the many wonderful things our city and area has going for it.

I was just reading up on Bobby Bowden. If what I read is true, he started working at FSU when he was 53? Kind of funny that Terry is starting at Akron in his mid 50s as well. I'm not saying this could happen but can he win over 200 more games at UA to pass his dad? haha thats only what 16 undefeated seasons? I can dream right?

Coach Bowden became the head coach at FSU in 1976 at age 47. He was the head coach for 34 years. Terry has been quoted many times as saying he will never even be the winningest coach in his own family . His father didn't win a national championship until 1993 - when he was 63 years old (by the way, Bobby was beaten out for the Bear Bryant Natioinal Coach of the Year Award that year by his son, Terry - who was undefeated in his first season at Auburn). Our Coach Bowden can definitely beat his dad for that milestone... Thats only 7 years ... And totally doable in my opinion.
To pass Coach Bowden (2nd all time in D1A wins with 377*) is not nearly as likely. Doubtful anyone will ever catch up.

The delay in sending out the season ticket packages is because the MAC is working out details to include 2 tickets to any non rivalry away MAC game of your choice.

I think that's quite possible. Now I understand we're not talking about huge numbers at this point. But if you encourage, say 50-100 fans from the away team to attend games they otherwise wouldn't have attended, maybe it's the sort of thing that becomes a tradition and slowly builds from there. Why not do all you can to fill the empty seats throughout the conference? I know I'll take advantage, and typically I've mostly travelled to the "BCS" games in the past (other than K.E.N.T.).
Good to see that it sold out. This is probably the first real test of how well the Bowden name draws in this area. The spring game will be a much bigger test, but this is a very good sign.
