Of course because your guy couldn't even get on the field and quit. CK your love for PN7 was beyond odd last year.
Nicely was/is better than Moore. It wasn't love, it was
truth.
If Ianello was intelligent, your assumption that, since PN7 didn't see the field he must suck, would be valid. But Ianello was an absolute idiot who made so many asinine decisions on Saturday's even Terry Pluto couldn't find anything nice to write about him. Ianello wanted to follow his process, not win games.
Ianello's favorite Moore was given an obscene amount of opportunities to do
anything last season, and he showed nothing.
Why did Nicely leave?
I doubt Bowden was too excited to keep a senior QB who was only slightly better than the Freshman Pohl. And with two highly-touted incoming Freshman QB's without scholarships, and Bowden "recruiting harder than I did in February" to find 5th year senior transfers and JUCO players, some attrition at the QB spot, enabling players to be signed at positions of greater need, was definitely not unwelcome by the staff.
I also doubt Nicely was all that keen on staying in Akron to play for a 3rd coach in 4 seasons. He had options to play elsewhere.
It isn't quitting. Sometimes a divorce is the best for everyone.
That's your answer.
