DeAndre Yedlin is my current favorite as well. HE's SOOO FAST!!!!! I love watching him explode past defenders. He's probably faster than everyone on the football team.

Should we create a thread for our favorite Zip athlete hair style?

Yes.
Superb photo. Great uniform for a great franchise.
Awesome hair! I hope he keeps that throughout the season.

I agree with everything you said.
I hope Steve Zakuani is able to make a comeback, and that DeAndre and Steve will one day play together for the Sounders.

Before Anthony Ampaipitakwong, Akron relied a lot on foreign or local players.

Pete Milich, would have loved to have seen him play, but his glory days were the very early sixties. Any guy that scores a goal in sixteen consecutive games has got to be worth watching. He also still holds the Zips record for goals in a career (85). This was in the very early days of Akron soccer and got the Zips off on the right foot (pun intended).

I admit I'm biased from my youth! But anyone who shared Richfield with 20,000 other soccer fans will give Kai a pass on this one!

Maybe he resided in Akron before retiring to Rocky River....

I was too young to appreciate the Akron players on the most sucessful soccer team in N. America but I still rememeber the likes of the Nanchoff's and Benny Dargle being anounced!

Incidentally, I still have Kai's Force card from this year! Wonder how much it's worth?

I've thought about this for sometime now, and there is absolutely no way I can pick a favorite player. We have and have had so many great players; I appreciate all of them playing for Akron and building our nationally recognized program. I will mention that this is the senior season for the 3 remaining starters of the 2010 National Championship game...Scott Caldwell, Chad Barson, and David Meves...as well as Thomas Schmitt who will have given us 5 years, I believe. I hope that Zips fans will show up this Fall in the biggest numbers in program history to help the Zips make this a great season culminating in our 2nd National Championship and sending these guys out on top.

I was waiting for someone else to mention it.
After watching Spring season, and considering the recruiting class, I believe the Zips will be 2012 NCAA Champions.
Seriously!
