Mike... You will be missed. I have enjoyed every blog you have posted. I think you are part of the awakening of Zip Nation. Your enthusiasm and expectation of excellence for our alma mater has been a big part in opening the eyes of all the faithful as to what the Zips can become. Twice I've met you in the parking lots outside the Info and both times you treated me as a long time friend. Thanks.

Sad news.

I remember back when he was pretty much the only media coverage we had.

Very sad to hear this, Mike was the only source for Akron sports news for a very long time.

It is sad news since it was the ABJ's decision. Mike did an outstanding job with that blog and should have been allowed to do it as long as he wished.

Thanks Mike for a great blog. I'm glad to know you, having met you on my way to Portland for KD's first trip to the NCAA Tourney. I hope I'll continue to see you at Zips' sporting events and that you will continue to blog on another forum.
