Mike Rasor lists two potential future players for the 2010 recruiting class.

Casey Prather a six-five wing man from Jackson, TN would be a major get on the order of Zeke Marshall. Rivals already ranks this kid as #39 best for 2010. A whole
long list of major majors have already offered him. Akron is not even listed. This kid is probably the missing piece the Zips need.

J D Witherspoon (Weatherspoon?) is a highly regarded six-seven wing/power forward that a number of schools including Ohio State are interested in. Probably a much
more realistic "get" for the Zips. Based on their potential either one would be a great compliment to the rest of the kids on board.

KD and staff are not messing around. They are going after the best.

2010 will have 2 available, unless we give one to Daryl Roberts.

Seniors in 2009-10 include Chris McKnight and Jimmy Conyers (as currently projected).

I'd have to believe that, as long as the classwork continues to go well, Roberts would get one of those scholarships. He'd certainly deserve it. And KD seems ultra-loyal to guys that pay their dues.

I spoke to a coach at the Trevor fund raiser a few months ago. He said they're aiming very high for a player to fill that available scholarship(s). Whomever gets it will be a high-caliber complement to Zeke.

It's kindof hard to believe that the guy who was the best player on the court for 40 minutes of the FSU game is a walk on.

This guy reminds me of Cedric as a freshman, the longer he played the clearer it became that he could flat out play.

I don't think I can even put into words how valuable it would be to this program to start landing a top 50 prospect every year. Zeke can be the start of it, but for his commitment to have long term value to this program after his playing days are over with UA he needs to be a trendsetter, not an outlier. Hopefully Prather can be the next big recruit in the trend. A wing with some size is a big need for this program down the road, though I am intrigued to see what McClanahan can do.

As far as Roberts goes, I wasn't even aware that he wasn't on scholarship. I really hope he can keep up with the academics and get the rewards of it. He was a big key for us down the stretch getting more and more minutes and giving Dials and Ced who were obviously banged up some relief minutes. I don't really know where he fits into the plans over the next couple years, but I'll certainly be rooting for him.
