  1. or maybe we could put stickers on the toilets. "iCoach Dump Zone"
  2. Remembering the Rubber Bowl News 5 piece with interview with Lee Owens. Growing up in the Rubber Bowl was magical. I know it was a hole but it was our hole.
  3. https://tucson.com/sports/arizonawildcats/football/arizona-wildcats-running-back-drake-anderson-enters-transfer-portal/article_dffeaf32-6f77-11ed-8201-8b34268e8b15.html Looks like he missed last year from entering the portal early in the season. He has now also played for 2 Wildcats and 2 UofA's
  4. Fun Fact about Paul Brown. As coach for the Massillon Tigers, In 1940 they played Kent State in a scrimmage. Paul Brown's Tigers beat the Flashes 47-0.
  5. That is SFC. The Terriers from Brooklyn not SFU Red Flash from PA that we played last year and Western plays this year.
  6. Kent on Wednesday is bad. No way around that one. Ohio on black Friday .... I don't dislike it. Gets out from under the OSU-Mich. shadow that really is an abyss for the casual sports fan. If we are having a good season we can actually get some spot light that Friday from the local media. Is black Friday even a thing anymore with online shopping? I'm confident (maybe naive) that Kentucky will play here. That contract has been edited multiple times and we have kept that as part of it and in fact they are paying us now to come here as part of the payment plan type structure that both schools came up with. It's not a uncommon for the non top of the hill P5 schools to travel. Iowa State has come here to play and Kentucky is probably lateral on that level. The Hurricanes played Toledo at the Glass Bowl, these kind of games happen every year. https://www.kentucky.com/sports/college/kentucky-sports/uk-football/article260410282.html
  7. Thanks for the heads up. I'll go back and listen.
  8. I noticed the other night that the ESPN+ commercial loop that shows while you are waiting for an event to start shows us scoring a touchdown
  9. I still feel that one. Explodes for a big freshman season in 06 then fails out of school and never makes it back on the field. Unlike Baine, we actually got to see the potential and then it was gone.
  10. Is there anyone that can say something nice about Icoach? What a jerk. I had the opportunity to talk to Jawon's dad at his first 2 spring games. They are great people. Jawon was really good and could of been better if he could of just gone more north and south. Too many times if there was someone barring down he would try to kick it outside. In high school, you can out run guys to the sidelines but in D1 everyone is fast to an extent. Jawon is still our last 1,000 yrd rusher in 2013. ....
  11. Sorry. Yes this is in reference to the Joey Hunter tweet above.
  12. From Joey Hunter's Gamecocks Bio Third-year defensive back who is capable of playing multiple positions in the backend… penciled in to work at the nickel position… can do a number of things within any defensive scheme… has been hampered by injuries early in his career, limiting him to six games in two years… did not practice in the spring while rehabbing from shoulder surgery. 2021 (Redshirt Freshman) Missed spring practice while rehabbing a foot injury that required surgery… played in two contests, seeing action against Tennessee and Vanderbilt before suffered a left shoulder injury that required surgery during the season… did not record any statistics. 2020 (Freshman) True freshman who saw limited action in four games in his first year with the Garnet & Black… appeared against Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky… did not record any statistics… redshirted… had foot surgery on December 8.
  13. I didn't find any updates. He hasn't announced anything on Twitter, which he is very active on.
  14. When I think of superlatives for Kent, It would look like Santa's list, before I got to "Grit". https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/new-kent-state-football-coach-kenni-burns-wants-to-add-kent-grit-to-flashfast-terry-pluto/ar-AA15gfu3 ..... Though, If you were ever going to meet a redneck named Rooster Cogburn, it would be in Kent.

  17. 2 Top Stories for today Ken Niumatalolo out at Navy. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35232562/ken-niumatalolo-navy-football-coach The Pirate Mike Leach in critical condition after medical emergency. There isn't a lot of info out there but the way everyone is acting around this situation would lead you to believe this is serious. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/mike-leach-hospitalized-mississippi-state-coach-in-critical-condition-with-personal-health-issue/
  18. I'm so jazzed up for the game today. I have on all Akron gear at work today. The guys in the shop are going to have the radio dialed in while I'm going to watch it from my office. I'm all in so I need the Zips to come up big today. ... or I'm going to have to sneak out the back door when I leave.
  19. I just searched Akron Zips on Hulu and the game came up. I have had that same issue in the past though, but at game time when I've gone to live events I was able to find it.
  20. Mason Taylor (son of Jason Taylor) scored on the game winning 2pt conversion in OT for LSU to give Lord Saban his 2nd loss.

  22. Wow that was a jolt to the memory bank. A name I forgot all about.
  23. Hippenhammer is their leading receiver with 29 rec for 360 yards. To compare he would be 4th in yards on the Zips. You'll have that when your last in the MAC in yards/g ; receiving yards/g ; and points/game. Their rushing ranks 4th but what is interesting is that Aveon Smith who has been their QB while Gabbert was out is their 2nd leading rusher at 314 yards. Running back Keyon Mozee has 376 yards. Its possible that going back to Gabbert could take away some of their productivity.
  24. Miami, like us, has been in a lot of one score games that they were not able to pull off the win in. The difference is they are low scoring games. They have been able to play good defense but have little offense. Gabbert returned from injury last week against Western but they still only mustered 10 pts and only converted 2 3rd downs. In MAC play they are averaging 17.5 pts per game and giving up 20. We are averaging 27.5 pts per while our opponents are scoring and average of 36.75 in MAC play. ESPN matchup predictor has this at 68/32 in favor of the RedHawks with the spread at 9 pts.
