  1. Well Stewart did bring in N'Dour as well as 8 of the 9 recruits during the Jim Christian Era. Stewart was never "almost" in trouble with the NCAA. That's just a local nobody beat reporter named Jason Arkley that has a bone to pick with Stewart for some reason!!! Arkley's columns are almost as bad as his breath and his bad breath is "LEGENDARY" to folks around here in Athens!!!!!!! I worked with Anthony and he's a stand up guy. Jim Christian hasn't had a winning season since Coach Stewart left his staff. Hmmmm???
  2. Thats why I thought Anthony Stewart from UT Martin would be a great hire. Akron guy. Proven recruiter. Has a HIGH MAJOR son committed to the SEC. I believe he's Tennessee Mr. Basketball but not sure. 6'5 " guard. Could probably play on the MAC.
  3. https://mobile.twitter.com/collegeinsider/status/793132851860533248 Read this MES102. Very impressive dude. Not that Mc Devitt isn't. Tell me what you think. You make some good points MES102. I do like the fact that he's local and won a Ohio State Championship at Hoban High School. I'm also holding out that if he were to get the job he would be able to persuade his son to be a Zip. His son is a High Major recruit committed to play in the SEC. Saw some clips on him. WOW???? Also read on the after game article that 2 starters didn't play for UT Martin against Asheville. They accounted for 25 points a game and 17 rebounds between the 2 of them. So Stewart did make an adjustment.
  4. UNC Asheville played UT Martin in the 1st round of the CIT this year. UNC Asheville was the overall #1 seed for the tourney. UT Martin was up 25 at halftime!!!!! UT Martin had far superior talent and Anthony Stewart can really coach. I'll take Stewart over McDevitt, plus Stewart is from Akron.
  5. Schroyer brought Stewart to UT Martin from Ohio U. Stewart was the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. So yes he did inherit a team. A team that he assembled himself. Not a coincidence that UT Martin had the most successful year in school history with several Ohio kids on the roster. Ohio has always been a strong point for Stewart. Plus I looked up Schroyer. He's been a head coach for 9 years and has a losing record. The only 2 winning seasons he's had is when Stewart came to UT Martin from Ohio U.
  6. Not true at all. I was on staff with Coach Stewart the 2 years he was there with Jim. He wasn't ever fired. He left Ohio for the opportunity to be the Head Coach at UT Martin which he currently holds and is doing a fabulous job. They had a run in his last year when Coach Stewart took him to task about how Jim historically treats his minority assistants. Something sad, that had been going on for years but people were afraid to step up and say anything about it. Coach Stewart actually did. I was there and saw it!!
