  1. By the looks of it, you may be right! My point was that OSU could throw enough money to draw a "name" coach, although I'm not sure they're going to do that. I'm not quite sure what the AD's plan is.
  2. Also, last year's rookie FA WR for the Giants, Roger Lewis (from BGSU), just got picked up for DUI. He played a little for them. Maybe the Giants are looking for other alternatives to fill out the WR corps.
  3. Any coach at the P5 level? OSU has great facilities and a lot of money to pay a coach. They may not get the top tier guy, but I think they'll get someone with more name recognition and a better resume than a mid-major coach or an unemployed candidate. Thad was a top-10 paid coach in the country. They can offer a lot of cash to get a "bigger" name to run the program.
  4. Nope. PA announcer called 3rd down when it was 2nd, and the announcers missed it. *edit - meant to quote the guy thinking we had an extra down
  5. Coach gets some flak for not drawing up good plays to end halves/games, and probably deservedly so. But, how about that play to get Reggie the 3-pointer to get it to 51-50? That was NICE.
  6. Miami just upset #8 Florida the other night. They are well balanced, and I think certainly a tournament team come the end of the season, even in the tough ACC. They got hot; we got caught up in their game a little bit and it got out of hand. That happens to young teams. The good news is that when we played our game, we competed very well with them. It's just hard to do that for 40 minutes against a superior opponent. The Zips will learn discipline and how to keep things from spiraling out of control as the season goes on. I'm actually pretty happy at how we look right now, given everything that has happened with Tree. We'll make some noise in the MAC for sure. All that said, the one thing we really shouldn't do is lay an egg in the consolation game. Coming out of this tournament 2-1 would be a great start for the Zips.
  7. My condolences and prayers to you and your family. So sorry to hear...
  8. One thing I'm curious about is taxes... If they become employees, will they be taxed for the $40,000+ a year (at Northwestern) they are receiving in what I would call compensation (tuition, room & board, books, fees, etc.)? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  9. I'm getting "blacked out" on ESPN3. Here in Columbus... I've watched many Zips games on ESPN3 this year. Anyone else getting "blacked out?"
  10. "Exciting" is not a term I would used to describe the Coleman Crawford era. That said, I saw Alberts several times, and he was a heck of a shooter. Roy Coleman could play, too.
  11. Love the Zips, and I love Dambrot as coach... We just ran into the perfect storm last night. I don't understand, however, why we didn't try to control the tempo of the game. We played right into their (red hot) hands. And, we have to learn to break the press with the pass, not the dribble. Oh well, I still think the future's bright for Zips hoops.
  12. LOL... Sorry. It was the first Chauncey thread I could find!
