  1. My favorite line of post game analysis: "The Better team won"
  2. Something that is encouraging (aside from the score at the moment, of course) is the shot chart. I don't see a single miss inside 8 feet or so. That has been a HUGE problem over the past few years.
  3. My favorite Twitter response so far: "Should take their defense from 99th in the country to 120th." Also: "How does a guy like Kevin Cosgrove ever get a D-1 coaching job? Overs are a lock in every Akron game next year." "Could you define "great"? Because he's terrible." (The original tweet said "Great get for the Zips") And one from Coach_BoPelini: "Osborne - let's schedule Akron STAT" The Masses don't seem to think very highly of Mr. Cosgrove...
  4. Some positions yes. Ever seen a 5-star punter or kicker? Fullback is one of the "Unimportant" positions according to scouts. Basically seems to be like guys that are "tweeners" - not big enough for O-line/TE but too big for WR/HB.
  5. I feel smart now. Thanks for digging this thread up so I can feel good about myself, BirdZip!
  6. Agreed. He might not have been the best coach, but I never once heard him complain or make any excuses. Even when they fired him, his press conference was all about how great it had been here and how much he loved the opportunity. Class acts like him are a rarity any more, and I miss him too.
  7. Isn't the reason why players can't sell their own personal items is because if it were allowed, it would soon escalate into boosters paying players exorbitant sums for worthless items? Hadn't really thought about that, but there certainly could at least be some sort of rule about market value for items or something.
  8. I still fail to see a violation in what they did (with the possible exception of the jerseys). They sold stuff that belonged to them...why are they not allowed? However, just because it's a dumb rule doesn't mean it shouldn't be followed. I would think that the original accusation (Hey, you're [Player X] from [big Name University]! Have a free [whatever store sells].) is pretty cut and dry, and not cool. But selling your own personal belongings? Weird. And for those that claim they would care if it weren't OSU under the gun: I still have yet to see a whiff of any complaint about Cam Newton/Auburn. There was a thread detailing (allegedly) all sorts of much more terrible things, and nobody really seemed to care all that much.
  9. My biggest complaint about the BCS has nothing to do with the title game. It's the stupid AQ crap. There's no reason for 8-4 UCONN to play in a BCS bowl or Va Tech either after losing to a 1AA school just because they won their crappy conferences. Heck, Temple and UCONN had the same record this year, and Temple beat UCONN by 2 touchdowns...UCONN gets a BCS bowl, Temple gets to watch the postseason...they have to feel kinda like we did after our bball team went 26-7 without a tourney invite.
  10. I'm not passing judgment on this either way, but when I see in every article that all of this "stuff" (bike-a-thon, computers for the schools, meals like this) is through The Lebron James Family Foundation, I have to wonder if any of this money is coming straight from his pocket. I also wonder how much of it is tax-deductible if it is coming from his pocket. Don't get me wrong, it's good "stuff"...APS needs the computers, needy families need a good thanksgiving meal, etc...but I think occasionally he gets a bit too much credit just because his name is attached to it.
  11. I'd expect a transfer move of some sort too. *Edit* FWIW, His player page on majorleaguesoccer.com lists his national eligibility as "Congo"
  12. Police Squad was a TV show that led to the Naked Gun Movies. The actual full title was The Naked Gun: From the Files of the Police Squad. You're both right.
  13. My favorite line of that article is: "We're 5-0 and I've been cranky." Words really can't describe how excited I've been since soccer season started and I see win after win over good teams. I'm glad coach isn't content to rest on success.
  14. It appears this guy really had it in for Brutus: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5596131
