  1. Prior to yesterday, Cinti. had beaten two bad teams in EKU and Miami and got spanked at Oklahoma...I don't see where they should have blown us off our home field. If they play their best ball then yes they should beat us but they handed us the opportunity to win and we said 'no thanks'. But at least only 2 things went wrong on the PAT (high snap and hole in the OL) and not 3 or 4 [/sarcasm]. There will always be some mistakes but it's all about limiting them to a few. JD is getting into a position of must-win the division to save his butt.
  2. The team is supposed to play hard...they're being paid thousands of dollars to. No extra credit for that. Because Cinci thought they were going to dominate us at home we're supposed to be happy to just stay close? They were not that impressive and gave us opportunities to win or at least go into OT, including a couple of turnovers. Make the PAT. I guess it only really matters in the end whether Mack was impressed or not. I think JD should be re-interviewed for his job at the end of his contract along with a host of new candidates. The new stadium on campus will draw a new level of coaching talent and interest.
  3. If we don't hang our heads about missing PAT's while 'playing our a$e$ off' then I guess we don't care about winning. I'm sure JD will be a good position coach somewhere when his current contract is up, maybe not special teams though.
  4. Yeah, I don't know what the big deal is...if you go in thru the home side gate you just have to walk the width of the field to get to the visitor side and you get a closeup view of the players warming up. But they should park where their peeps are setting up for tailgating by all means. I must say I've always liked going in at the top of the stadium on the east side for the view. I wonder if the RB is the only stadium with entrances both at the top and at playing field level.Skin the Bcats !!
  5. DH to start for suspended PBhttp://www.nj.com/sports/index.ssf/2008/09...hixon_in_b.html
  6. we're 10 point home dogs & cinci has a good coach...I think they'll be ready. we need to pass well, catch well, punt & kick well and minimize the penalties to have a chance. zips 30-> <-cinci 27 in OT.
  7. Yet you keep going back to Dollar General to whine about the merchandise...apparently your wife was wrong. The baby crying in the stands should be named GP2.
  8. OK, that's truly amazing. Most people in Akron couldn't do that let alone eastern NY. Maybe he's knowledgeable about the Zips since we've played Army a few times now. Or maybe he has some other connection to the Zips program, but he probably would have mentioned that. Or maybe he's an NFL junkie, fantasy league player, NFL video game player etc. that knows all the stats on all the players but it would still be tough to reel off the players from one school like that. I'm impressed. Enjoy the trip.Well maybe, I think it's great that there was someone who recognized former Zips in the NFL, but Jason Taylor is pretty well known regardless (as an NFL fan I could tell you Tony Romo palyed at Eastern Illinois, same for most of the big name palyers who went to less well known schools) and Green played for Jets for a long time and Hixon and Blackburn both for the Giants so in Eastern NY maybe not quite so amazing. If he could have come up with Andy Alleman and James Black, I would have been really impressed. Someday we'll get there - I look at the strides the program has made since I was there and I do beleive anything is possible. Most of the teams in the MAC are exactly what they have been for the last 40 years, only Buffalo and Akron have made big leaps recently.Since you mention it, he did stick with the NY teams plus Jets rival Fins...and he omitted Dwight Smith, Charlie Frye, Jake Schifino and Ed Kregenow If the Captain goes back for more beer he can refer him to this Wikipedia list:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akron_Zips_fo...ayed_in_the_NFLI hadn't realized Matt Cherry is still in the league but has never gotten in a game (not even as a cleanup KR?)

  10. Yeah, let's get it started...Go Zips !!Beat the evil Indiana Hoosiers !Defend the Info...we need a Big10 win !!
  11. nice pics...thanks. it's true--the webcams don't do it justice, wish they had some more & closer angles. I'm guessing the same fellers will start pouring the visitors side stands as soon as they finish the home side.
  12. I wouldn't count on it. Dude cheerleader is probably content to stay on the sidelines handling the female cheerleaders rather than being on the field gettin' physical with some big sweaty other-dudes.
  13. Looks like DH had a good day...3 catches for 60 yards, a 50-yd punt return and a couple of tackles. Apparently Plaxico is healthy and playing again.
  14. OSWho dropped to #13 in the AP...there went half the fan base for this season but I'm sure they'll be back at the beginning of 09. I still think our new stadium will draw big crowds and they will have a great time on campus. Maybe what we actually need is more BuckZips, at least until we can wean them off the bandwagon
  15. I can definitely agree on that. Should be a sold out season next year, especially if OSWho stumbles and the mob turns on Tressel. The RB has 2 months to live.
  16. 4 INT's and a fumble for a touchdown. Was it raining most of the game? The Cards are having some roasted Roo tonight. Ball v. CMU for the West should be a good race.
  17. you're welcome. pretty sloppy 1st half. don't know if it's raining on the field but a lot of dropped passes. if only the d-line was healthy
  18. I'm watching livestats at http://www.gozips.com/liveStats/newLiveSta...E_STAT_ID=92286
  19. Whew. Glad to be tied at 10 the way it's been going...
  20. 2-8 DAVIS, Nate pass intercepted by GRAHAM, Miguel at the AKRON0, GRAHAM, Miguel return 0 yards to the AKRON0, touchback.
  21. That gives me an idea for the RB after this season. Maybe stock some bass in there, charge some Portage Co. rednecks entrance to do a little fishin...
  22. Yeah, get the L out of the way now so we don't incur it in the tournament home opener again...I'm still bummed from that
  23. That's a more advanced algebra topic not covered in Modern Univ. Mathematics. You won't find it in Excel yet either but it does come in handy for achieving the desired result
