  1. Updating this as we're up to 16/25 All MAC players in the Portal/Graduating. It would be 17/25 but B. Artis White is returning to WMU. Ali Ali, Senior, Guard, Akron Enrique Freeman, Senior, Forward, Akron Marcus Hill, Junior, Guard, Bowling Green Anthony Pritchard, Junior, Guard, Central Michigan Ra’Heim Moss, Junior, Guard, Toledo All-MAC Second Team Basheer Jihad, Junior, Forward, Ball State Rashaun Agee, Senior, Forward, Bowling Green Jaylin Hunter, Senior, Guard, Ohio Dante Maddox Jr., Junior, Guard, Toledo Tyler Cochran, Junior, Guard, Toledo All-MAC Third Team Brian Taylor, Graduate Student, Guard, Central Michigan Tyson Acuff, Junior, Guard, Eastern Michigan Jalen Sullinger, Junior, Guard, Kent State David Coit, Junior, Guard, Northern Illinois AJ Clayton, Junior, Forward, Ohio All-MAC Honorable Mention Greg Tribble, Senior, Guard, Akron VonCameron Davis, R-Junior, Forward, Kent State Anderson Mirambeaux, Senior, Center, Miami Darweshi Hunter, Graduate Student, Guard, Miami B. 2. At most - half. Most MAC programs have their top 2-3 producers from last season in the Portal. I doubt those guys are being told they won't have guaranteed playing time or a spot on the roster next season. To deliver a shock and awe effect with his tweets, that Tyler fellow would be better off driving into the production of the players in the Portal instead of the quantity. 46 players sounds like a lot, and it technically is, but it leaves the door open for questions like yours, 1981 - "how many are told to leave?" "60% of the MAC's total points scored in the 2023-24 season have entered the transfer portal. An additional 20% of the total points will have graduated, leaving only 20% of the total scoring production returning at this point next season." Those numbers aren't real, but they're probably not far off from the truth and really hammer home how much the MAC has seemingly lost so far. Will some in the portal currently return to their initial MAC school? Probably - one already has for WMU. But most will find new chairs to sit in during this wild game of Musical Chairs.
  3. DJ Burns is in the Portal. And by DJ Burns, I mean the Youngstown State DJ Burns, not the NC State DJ Burns. Basically, this is the TEMU/Wish.com version.
  4. Zeke Mayo, G from South Dakota State, is in the Portal. 18.8 PPG. I don't know how much the @clarkwgriswold fund has in it, but we need to empty it and bring two Jackrabbits into Akron - Mayo & Williams III.
  5. Al Davis said it best, "Just win baby win!" Good get for Miami.
  6. CMU's coach has to be taking interviews with other schools... Right?
  7. Toledo's Dante Maddox Jr is now in the Portal amid rumors that Kowalchoke is garnering serious interest from Utah State (and probably other schools).
  8. Bad weekend for the underdogs. A few people I follow on social media are doing an underdogs only bet throughout the tourney, ranging from $100 to $1000 on every underdog. Great Thursday/Friday for them. Brutal Saturday/Sunday.
  9. Which is a sign, or at least I hope a sign, that players might start thinking twice before leaving in the first place. B-tier and lower G5 talent isn't going to see the floor much at most P5s.
  10. Our team shop isn't open half the time but schools like Samford will mop up with creative merch like this.
  11. Did not realize that was Greg McDermott - current Creighton coach and #2 all time in school wins - vs. Dana Altman - former Creighton coach and #1 all time in school wins. Wow.
  12. 2OT Creighton is the Creighton we got the entire game on Thursday. Oregon is going to lose in 2 OT by nearly the same margin we did in regulation. Sheesh.
  13. 62 pts end of regulation for the pedestrian Blue Jays. If only...
  14. Alexander is missing the free-throw-line jumper that he literally did not miss the other day. This is disheartening.
  15. Creighton shot 26% from 3 and 38% from the field in the first half. Comparatively, they were ~70% from 3 and 60%+ from the field at the half on Thursday. Go freaking figure.
  16. Bill Self is a scumbag, but he hasn't made any comments like Izzo has about eliminating the mid major auto bid. Therefore, Self is on my 💩 list, but for much different reasons including but not limited to creating a pop up strip club in Fogg Allen during a preseason exhibition and copious amounts of cheating that the NCAA merely slaps him on the wrist for.
  17. And hopefully a new jersey. Guthrie favorited my tweet suggesting that Freeman's jersey also be retired.
  18. Nobody watches March Madness for the 8v9 matchup. They watch it for the 13v4, 12v5, or even 15v2 upset that plagues the power conferences. The Tourney is the one time they're forced to play the pee-ons away from their home court, and it makes them incredibly vulnerable. Any P5 coach or pro-P5 article that suggests getting rid of any type of auto bids is a stain on that person, their university, conference, and the sport of college basketball. Personally, I hope Izzo visits a horse farm and falls face first into a pile of horse 💩.
  19. A few years ago (maybe more than a few; COVID really killed all sense of time this past decade), Nevada was branded as Transfer U as they enjoyed outstanding success in March. I would love to see our athletic department and basketball team brand themselves as Commitment U or Loyalty U. We just had 2 excellent players spend their entire 5 year collegiate careers at Akron; another player came back for his 4th year at Akron after a year at a "better" school. That's unheard of in this day and age, and really what people want to see in college athletics. The majority of social media posts aren't a fan of all the movement, and any program that is able to buck that trend would instantly become a fan favorite. Knock on wood, but we have zero players in the portal so far. Imagine being able to pitch that to future recruits/transfer.
  20. Has nothing to do with strength/conditioning. Has everything to do with an inability to put the ball in the hoop consistently. Vs Ohio in the Semi Finals - 14 or 16 pts in the first half & 50 pts in the second half. Prime example, especially being the 2nd game in 2 days. I mean, hell, we won the MAC Tournament which is 3 games in 3 days. We need shooters/scorers. Period.
