  1. You are 100% right. If you really want to go by the rule book, Miami should have been charged with a technical for rushing the court. Since there was actually .6 seconds on the clock the game was not over. Meaning more than 5 players on the court during the game which means a technical foul. Now I'm not ignorant enough to think that any ref will make that call in any big game ever. My point is don't say the officials did everything according to the rule book when in fact they didn't. One last point. If the refs timed the play and it lasted 6.0 seconds from the time the ball was touched until the ball passed through the net, then how did 6.6 seconds run off of the game clock when it was started AFTER the stopwatch? I'm no physics major but I'm pretty sure that's impossible.
  2. Did anyone else think to themselves when reading his bio, "Wow you have NO experience with a mid-major program." How can a guy who is used to the big stage and national recognition have ANY idea of how to run a mid major conference? I'm personally embarrassed for the league. Someone with no idea what obstacles these teams face going into the postseason is the one responsible for promoting us? That truly is a joke. As far as his response, if you’re in a position of authority you have NO RIGHT degrading someone under you. If you were angry with the way Akron ran something and wrote Proenza an angry e-mail do you think he would respond like that? HELL NO!! He is absolutely classless. By the way, we’re the fans that give him a paycheck. Without our tickets he doesn’t get paid. Have some respect for those you represent.
  3. A couple thoughts;I can't for one second understand what happened tonight. The thought that we turned it down only makes sense because there's no way in hell that we should not have been selected for either tournament. I have been a college basketball fan for quite some time. I've followed big schools and D3 schools. I can honestly say I've NEVER seen a snub like this in my life. This has literally never happened. No Division one team with more than 25 wins has EVER missed post season play. EVER!!! That's not speculation that's fact. So I don't care what explanation there is both committees owe a HUGE apology to Coach Dambrot and Dru and Rome. Adding to the whole Dambrot leaving thing; I have never seen Dambrot as upset as he was after the game last night. He was also on channel five news 10 min. before the NCAA selection show and was still fuming. If I were him I'd get as far from Akron, and the MAC, as possible.
  4. They were removed from the player roster on ESPN.com so I would assume so. Bardo's size together with his ... ummm, oh yeah that's all he's got. He definately needs this year to learn the game of basketball. He's tall and very uncoordinated. Give him a couple of years under KD and he's got a chance at being decent but that's about it.Either way,
  5. First of all Dials is not overrated. He is what he is, a shooter and a defender. Just so you know NO shooters have a great game night in and night out. We all know that when he is not having a good game he's not going to hit shots he should. Why the HELL did he get the ball over Ced. Middleton is by far the best creator on the team and by the box score he looked to be playing well. Secondly whoever said the regular season doesn't matter is an idiot. Had we won last night and possibly pulled off an upset over Texas Tech, hello at large bid. Look at some of the mid-majors last year that got bids. Many of them beat only one or two big name schools. This year we had a shot at Bob Knight and revenge on Nevada. With those two wins and a MAC regular season championship we would have gotten an at large bid. We had a shot at the Top 25 this year. We already had a couple votes preseason. So with our tradition of sucking at tournaments this regular season would have been perfect for an at large bid. The season's definately not over, we still have a shot to make a splash this year if we play to our potential.GO ZIPS!!and
  6. With the Cavs preseason games starting, I'm reminded of my favorite time of year. Zips basketball will surely be something special this season. So after awhile away I'm returning to weigh in on the predictions.I have two different predictions; optimistic and realistic. First for the optimistic. This team is capable of being a huge shocker this season. After the CBE Classic we could see ourselves in the top 25. Yes that means I honestly believe KD will have his team ready to go and surprise Texas Tech. Call me crazy but I just think with our talent we can do it. I will be talking to KD in about an hour and let him know what I think. With that big win I think this team is more than capable of going 24-6 and remaining in the top 25 for at least most of the season. Now for the realistic prediction. For once the realistic guess isn't too far from the optimistic. The team will definately have over 20 wins in the regular season. There are games in there that could trip us up and cause us to win only 21 or we could get 24. It all depends on unforseen events that we don't know yet. Either way one thing is sure not just the MAC but the entire country will learn toFEAR THE ROO!!Go Zips and as always
  7. Home field advantage usually gives a team 3.5 points when betting. Somebody out there knows something we don't know. "Sombody" is usually right. I worry. That somebody knows that we are a touchdown favorite on a nuetral field. I'm not worried. I will be betting the game. As long as they are focussed no one stands a chance this year against this Zips team. We didn't play our best on Saturday and still beat a BCS school. 2006 - The Year of the Zip
  8. He definately deserves a look. What bad could come of this. He was an Army All-American and he is still HUGE. The worst is he doesn't pan out and we'd be right where we were before or he could prove to be the stud that he was projected to be. Definately worth a chance in my opinion if he's interested.
  9. Maybe because Nebraska SUCKS at bastketball. Nice try though.
  10. Great find scottditzen!!!I, the Computer Illiterate One, am going to try to post a hyperlink for all of you to check this construction out! This is Case Western U's new football stadium/dorm project. This is gorgeous! A project with this flavor - done on a D-1 scale - would be revolutionary!!! Could you IMAGINE [Zen ] walking down a 30-yard red-brick alley, w/ 5-storied red-brick dorms on each side, just to get to the beautiful new stadium gates?! How cool!!!Case Western Univeristy Once I get my pictures back I will post them. I transfered from Case and have been back many times to watch my friends on the team. Now that it's finished the pics they have online don't do it justice. It's a PHENOMENAL stadium. Something with this idea but obviously more seating would be ideal for us. Pics coming soon.
  11. "All" Williams did was lose every player that contributed to his team. "All" Williams did was mold a young inexperienced team to a top ten. "All" Williams did was lead a underclassmen laiden team through a senior dominated ACC. If you're saying he doesn't deserve it you are just plain ingorant. After the run to the Final Four I could see the George Mason coach getting some consideration, but like AK-Zips said the voting is before the post season. If you can tell me one coach that did a better job in the regular season please enlighten me since you seem to speak for all college basketball fans. One thing we can all agree on is...
  12. That is the most ignorant post I have ever seen. Obviously you don't know much about college football.
  13. The NIT selection committee underrated Miami. I'm not sure how beating UNC in Chapel Hill gives you no credit. They are definately a good team and Creighton can be awesome too if they play well. The Zips had a very tough road to get to MSG.
  14. Terrible article. If you would have watched the special they weren't arguing that the mid-majors shouldn't be in the tournament, the argument was that the MVC had just as many teams as the ACC. One mid-major conference shouldn't have four bids. That's the argument. And vindication? How? The MVC record in the touney is 4-4 with two teams going one and done. The ACC went 6-4 and every team won their first round game. When you look at the way these teams lost my point is further illustrated. BC, Duke, and N.C. State all lost battles to three of the hottest teams in the tourney, while Bradley and Southern Illinois lost by a combined 34 points. Southern Illinois was never in the game against WVU. When the MVC teams finally played the Big teams they got embarrassed. So if that isn't proof that the MVC didn't deserve four bids I don't know what is. but the fact remains
  15. Amazing season. I went from a college bball fan to a diehard AK-Rowdy. The effort night in and night out, playing their hearts out at home, getting the first postseason win in the DI era, all of this gets me sooo psyched for next season. If you go on espn.go.com, and look at the MAC rosters, OU is about the only team I give a chance to compete with us. That youth that hurt us at times this year translates into experience next year. For all you kfu fans i have an updated scoreboard for you 2005-2006 MAC championshipsAkron 4Can't 1
