  1. Thanks guys! http://www.ubbullrun.com/2013/10/26/503052...uffalo-and-hate
  2. UB is very light on "hatred" for other teams. We are too new, and too much of an outlier in the conference. So at Bull Run we have been asking opposing fan bases why a team is "hateable". ZipsNation is one of the best voices out there for Akron Fans and nobody hates Can't like Akron.. So tell me, why should I hate them like you hate them?
  3. http://www.ubbullrun.com/2011/11/18/257121...-got-here-akron So here we are again... A late season epic pillow fight between the only two teams not names Ohio or Miami who won the MAC East this past decade. Last season it was a week 13 trip to a winless Akron that showed us just how far UB had fallen. The Zips were in the lead throught the game and only some spectacular work by Alex Neutz (you know the guy who's out for the season with a wrist injury) kept the Bulls in the game. This year, for both teams, has went about the same. Sure UB beat the MAC East champs this year and all the zips have to hang their hat on is a win over VMI but the Bulls play, in general, is declining over the early part of the season. Akron had been showing some improvement throughout the year, coming just a missed two point conversion away from beating Central Michigan, but these past to weeks they have hit a road block. Getting stomped by Miami and losing the Wagon Wheel to Can't. With game like this, and with teams like these, you never really know what to expect. UB has been a far better team at home than on the road. Akron, despite being winless beat the Bulls last season. The only real known about this game is that the loser, if they survive the off season, will start 2012 with the shortest leash in college football. 4. Ill add my congrats to this... Two tourney's in three years... Very nice!
  5. Only Buffalo could get just one conference win the year after changing coaches... Oh, nevermind...
  6. What you skipped out on this to watch the Alabama/Auburn Game
  7. But you really outplayed us, Congrats on getting off the schnide this year... Lets do this again next season with two winning records shall we?
  8. FYI: I did a blog swap with Mike Rasor over on Bull Run.. http://www.ubbullrun.com/2010/11/24/183364...sor-on-the-zips Let's just hope this is the last pillow fight these two teams have for some years... Onto better things for both programs .. .. After we beat you..
  9. You do realize that no team in the MAC 'Makes $' with their program. This new body would basically be the BCS big six conferences. Not only would this screw over football but also basketball. It would take the top 60 or so programs, by conference, and lock them in. At that poind the Mid Majors all become defacto FCS programs... It's a good idea for ESPN and the BCS, it screws everyone else..
  10. Hope you guys don't mind me chiming in, I'm not here to kick you when your down as a Bills fan during the SB years I know what it's like to have Kicker Woes. I also watched the Bulls lose more than a few games over the past two years because of a FG miss. Coach I had a kicker lined up in the off season and declined to offer him a scholarship, he walked on at another MAC school where he is red shirting this season. For some reason Coaches don't like to keep two kickers on scholly, UB included, which is a mistake. When Buffalo has ahd kicking (and punting woes) in the past they have looked at Buff State (DII) and ECC (Local Community college)... Usually you can pull away their kickers with just the offer of a walk-on... Has Akron done this in the past?
  11. Hope you don't mind the shameless self promotion... I am doing a conference rundown and reached Akron this week: http://www.ubbullrun.com/2010/06/mac-kicko...n-11-akron.html
  12. Only place the flushes will be going bowling is Can't Lanes. It's interesting that she calls Toledo the biggest disappointment last year. No one expected them to be a contender but a few outliers. I think they were exactly as expected, worth a win here and there, but not up to winning consistently. On the other hand, I was really expecting K-ent State to win it all. Cough, cough. Hmmm the way I read her statement was that after the hot start the fizzle was disappointing...
  13. Only place the flushes will be going bowling is Can't Lanes. My first reaction to Can't was a chuckle but when I looked at it more closely I have to agree Can't really should make a bowl game this year http://www.ubbullrun.com/2010/05/way-way-t...-mac-teams.html Graham Watson at ESPN breaks down the teams as follows Bank on it: Temple, NIU, Ohio, Can't Most Likely: Toledo Outside Shot: CMU, WMU Better Luck Next Year: Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Miami, Ball State, EMU My 'Rankings' Are: Bank on it: Temple, NIU, Can't, Toledo Most Likely: Ohio Outside Shot: CMU, Buffalo (Blue Tinted Glasses?), Bowling Green Better Luck Next Year: Akron, WMU, Miami, Ball State, EMU
  14. Isn't that what the Zips are doing this season? It is the dream come true about to become a nightmare. UofA plays an even more difficult schedule than UB does. We play a I-AA team, they play a I-AA team. We play IU and KY on the road, they play two BCS teams on the road. We play Syracuse at home, they play UCONN at home (both Big East teams). We will go 1-3 with our ooc and they will go 1-3. I can't believe some of you who think UofA should schedule up would also complain about the schedule we play and actually think UB is better scheduling than us. 2011 and 2012 are the years that UB is playing the scheudle that some people think is foolish (3 BCS teams)
  15. What you are leaving out is that Wake is in a strong conference... They play Teams on par with UConn and Boston College (conf game for them) for the better part of their season. So where UB/Akron have eight games in a gutter conference (by your reckoning) and two, or three against good teams Wake Forrest has 5 or 6 games against teams that have a good shot at being ranked. So yes MAC teams can settle into their mediocre conference and get other teams from other mediocre conferences to play them in the hopes of (1) being no better. Or they can try to get two, or three games a year which will boost attendance, get publicity, and give the program something to shoot for. Warde Manuel is not going the Miami route of 5 home games and taking the money, these are home and home arrangements with regionally known and followed teams (hence Army is in the mix in the future). Akron who has about the best stadium in the MAC can go the same route..
