  1. Amen to this. I mean, did anything really think we would hang? FAU had the largest opening Vegas spread out of any of the 40 bowl games and it actually got larger as the game drew closer (usually the line gets closer barring any type of suspension or injury during practice). This was not a surprise. I thought we might keep it a little closer but Kiffin's style lends itself to blowing out outmatched opponents. We were playing a good team at their home stadium. Frankly, I'm just happy we made a bowl game; in fact, 2 bowl games in 3 years! That's the first time that's ever happened!!! These are the baby steps people. Do you really want to fire Bowden and risk getting another Ianello? Do you really want to go through another 1-11 season? Give Bowden a couple more years. If he gets us 8-4 or even 9-3 but can't win the MAC, then maybe you think about getting a bigger name. Until then, just enjoy the postseason.
  2. Geez, line is up to FAU -23 already?? I guess I know what my highest confidence pick will be...
  3. They really need to outlaw teams playing in bowl games at their home stadiums. It seems to be more prevalent in Florida too... FAU @ FAU, Miami @ Miami...
  4. Cripes... overmatched against a team playing on their home field. How is this fair?
  5. Lose to OU, beat Kent. I'll buy the t-shirt for the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl.
  6. Sorry if this was covered earlier in the thread but do we know if Woodson will be back for OU or Kent?
  7. Hooray for being televised! (Yeah, I know I can watch ESPN3 via my Xbox but it's just so much easier to flip channels between commercial breaks if it's on a channel my satellite gets.) Boo for the day change, though... I'll be away from home for half the game.
  8. At this point I see this bowl game as a stepping point to a better season next year, being competitive in the MAC, and winning a bowl game next year. Not counting us out this year (Bowden's been around so hopefully he'll know how to prepare for a bowl game - something our kids haven't been able to do in their careers) but I see this is a step in turning the program around.
  9. Any TV for the game? I notice the spread is off the books in Vegas... which is strange because E. Tenn. St. vs. Tenn. Tech is on the books...and those teams are pretty putrid.
  10. Honestly, at this point, all I really want is to continue the streak of 20+ win seasons. I think we're one of only, what, like 5 teams in the country with such a long streak like that? Need a win tonight, hopefully one in Cleveland or the first round of whatever horrendous post-season tournament we'll be invited to.
  11. My thoughts exactly. The school's not exactly in the dumps or going bankrupt. Changing the name of a university is a big damn deal and, I would imagine, require a re-chartering of the school and all sorts of legal issues.
  12. Boy... an 'L' tonight really puts the pressure on the team if they want to avoid playing a MAC tournament game at the JAR...
  13. Sorry if this is started a few days early but just noticing that EMU is 13-1 at home this year with that lone loss coming in OT to Ball State to open the season. Normally I'd just say "who cares" but considering EMU knocked off Michigan earlier in the year and absolutely blew the doors off of a schizophrenic OU on their home court last month, do we need to be worried about another West division road trip game like the NIU one?
  14. Wasn't that when the Browns trounced them on Thursday night? In the end, he was right but still... you just got routed on national TV. Give credit where credit was due and own up to getting worked over.
  15. Welcome to 90% of college basketball teams. Home court advantage is pretty rampant throughout most conferences. Only the really top tier teams go out and dominate on the road as well as home. At least, that's what I've learned playing ESPN's Streak for the Cash.
