  7. This is a low-quality production. Looks like a high school game.
  8. this sounds like a Fox sports problem. They are giving different feeds to the different outlets. If DirectTV doesn't get the game feed from FSOH, there's nothing they can do about it.
  9. it's on now. I think they had technical problems picking up the feed.
  10. Don't need the window open. They have a crowd mic.Go Zips.

  14. Love your signature shot uakronkid. Can I put it on the ak-oldies web site?

  16. I think we're going to have to get the city involved if we entertain a new arena. That means making the arena available for other things than UA Basketball, which it would need to meet expenses. I don't see what's wrong with the area across from Canal Park. Hell, campus goes down to Main Street anyway with Polsky...and what about Quaker Sq? Canal park isn

Hell, campus goes down to Main Street anyway with Polsky...and what about Quaker Sq? Canal park isn't that far and you have night life already in the area.I don't think we need to fill the JAR before we build a new arena. We need the better facility to become better to get more butts in the seats...chicken and egg thing. The question is timing. The U isn't going to shell out anymore right now for another sports facility...not with tuition going up and state subsidies going down. Bad PR move for them. And even if the city does get involved, that means getting money from the State, which isn't going to happen with the current economic climate. The only hope is for a little stimulus money from Barrack. (that's a joke by the way)
  18. Even Rita Dove, the poet laureate of the United States, who is from Akron, went to Miami!linky
  19. Fortunately only we know that now - I'll bet a few other schools have similar "alumni" on that list - and how proud must WVU be for having Billy Mays selected for inclusion on their list? They should have just gone with the classic for us - Jason Taylor. Even non-football fans should know him from "Dancing with (I just can't finish that ).I'm sure they did some, shall we say, embellishment, with the other schools too.that's OK, we still have Dave Nethers, a UA grad, on Channel 8. :lol:I agree, Jason Taylor would have been a much better selection!
  20. I couldn't imagine sharing a table and pitcher of 3.2 beer with these guys in the Chuckery...so I did a little research...Alan Bean only received an honorary doctorate from UA. He actually studied at the Carnegie Institute and MIT.BioSame for Ed Mitchell...honorary. He went to Carnegie MellonBioSo, these two boys never actually walked the Hilltop.Should have stuck with the comedian!
  21. So Akron is flying its band to Portland, but OU couldn't afford to send its band to Cleveland!!! So much for the snobkittens!
