  1. We are less than a week away from the opener, and I still have not received my tickets that I paid for in December (see above). So, I made some phone calls to what I believe is the ticket office to ask what is going on and why have I not received my tickets and parking passes. After some discussion, they have my tickets and told me to pick them up. I told them that I live an hour and a half a way and asked if they could mail them. They said that they would go out in today's mail. Akron had my contact information (phone, cell phone, email, address) correct so there should not have been any issues in contacting me. I personally find this performance completely unsatisfactorily. It looks like they were trying to keep my money for two tickets and a parking pass. I first got season tickets in the 80's, but I missed the last two years because of Covid. I have been a very loyal alumnus with attending games, donations, and hiring many, many students from the University. With that said, I am appalled at the actions of the University. Basically, this is the result of that scumbag Guthrie. I hope they send me my tickets and passes as promised or I will have a lot more to say.
  2. Sorry for my oversight. Thank you for the correction. Go Zips!!!
  3. Is Norton a commit or an offer? If he is a commit, he needs to get added to the list on page 1.
  4. There have been some good postings on the remaining available players left for the Zips to be recruited. I am trusting these potential recruits are accurate, but my point is to identify the positions on the team that are needed. Also, I am going to assume the 2022 and 2023 commits are competent and Coach will retain the 2023 commits. I know this is a big assumption, but we will find out. I want to get input on what else is needed in the class of 2023 based on position. I will review my perspective on the current situation position by position. QB Commit: Wassel Current: 4 (Irons, Undercuffler, Jankowski, Jennings) on roster Needs: Based on how Irons/Undercuffler perform, maybe a 5th year senior transfer. RB Commit: None Current: 4 recruits/transfers in 2022, plus Norrils and Williams Needs: No additional recruits, should be a solid position OL Commits: Long, Mann Current: 19 OL on roster, with 17 being Fr or So. Includes 6 RS-So who are in their fourth season along with Whigen and Banes. Should have experience. Needs: Based on performance of OL, maybe one from the TP. TE Commit: Cravaack Current: Brank, Ognenovic, plus 4 recruits/transfers in the class of 2022 who are highly regarded Needs: None, I would try to shed a couple of the TE's WR Commits: 3, Norton, Miller, Louis Current: Jacques-Louis, Adams, and George as P5 transfers, plus recruits and existing WR teammates Needs: Nothing additional in this class, I would try to shed a couple of WR's. DL Commits: Moore, Cheatom Current: A very poor returning DL on the roster, a very porous group, plus 5 TP/CC transfers and 1 recruit in the class of 2022. 3 transfers have only 1 year of eligibility remaining Needs: 3 additional freshman recruits plus 2 TP transfers to allow the transition to the JoeMo recruits. LB Commits: Bowen Current: Bubba, Boateng, Behm, plus others who I hope can develop Needs: 2 more freshman recruits and 2 TP recruits DB Commits: Tucker, Taylor, White Current: Threatt, Martin, Woods, Nelson as 2022 tranfers, plus many DB's on the roster Needs: None K/P - I think we are in good shape currently Summary Offensively, I feel good with the exception of QB, which is the most important position. May need a transition person to Wassel Defensively: I see a lot of needs short and long term at DL and LB. In Coach JoeMo we trust!!! Go Zips!!!!
  5. This is a topic that has come up many times in the past. Another point to remember is the following, again not a new point. 6 of the OL are R-So. With the redshirt year and Covid year, 2022 is their fourth season, so they should have experience. Add Whigen and Banes, and Akron has experience on the offensive line. They recruited several good freshman in the 22 class, and they have 2 good recruits in the 23 class. I agree with blueandgold, 'Great for the future'. Go Zips!!!
  6. I had some insomnia and I found these four 2022 Zip football projections on line. If they have been already posted with the nation, please have one of the moderators remove this post. Of the four predictions, three are very bad predicting 2-10 seasons with only the first Joe Dunn interview being positive. The moderator on this show had a lot of facts and predicted a bowl game for the Zips. However, the negative projections seem to be missing a lot of facts and transfer information. Looking forward to comments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbY5X_gTwxw In Coach JoeMo we Trust!!!! Go Zips!!!
  7. I still love stars. However, I know it is not an exact science. Mistakes will be made, but for the most part, Stars win out. Look at Alabama, OSU, etc. They do not recruit zero star players. I will continue with my support of Stars. Go Zips!!!!!
  8. Learned to love the new logo. Go Zips!!!!
  9. LZlp - thank you very much for the quick reply and clarity. Zipmissus - you tend to make incorrect and unfounded comments toward my posts. Have we met? I am starting to think that you are trolling as my ex-mother in law. Go Zips!!!
  10. What great pickup. With all of those offers, I am surprised that he has no stars. It is starting to make me question the value of stars. Go Zips!!!!
  11. Please re-read my post. It is not that I do not like him, but based on the tapes, I did not see a stud. With most of the recruits, it is easy to see a significant difference in talent with the tapes in who they are playing. I concluded my comments with 'In Coach JoMoe we Trust!!!' This is my way of saying that I trust the decision that coach is making and my comments (like most posters) probably do not matter. Go Zips!!!!
  12. Not impressed based on tapes. Hoping that: In Coach JoeMoe we 'trust!!!
  13. I think this is a defining moment for Coach JoeMo. It will show if coach values character and how he looks at a person's actions and how it might affect the position group and locker room. Akron now has a good running back room with youth and experience. To use a hillbilly quote: "I would not touch him with a 10 foot pole"
  14. Is this an offer, a commit? I could not find any details.
  15. Coach JoeMo has signed 41 players this year per the list on this site, many who are transfers with FBS experience. I expect large improvements in the play as well as many more wins with the record. I predicted a 7win season with a goal of 8 wins. I do not think anyone else predicted more than 6 wins. A common statement among coaches and I heard the Indians manager Francona say this right before the all star break: 'You are only as good as your record says you are'. I think the major posters on this site have been used to such poor Zip performances that they have set the bar low. In addition, the talent evaluation of this group for the most part does not exist. I am staying optimistic/realistic and am expecting to go bowling. In Coach JoeMo we trust!!!!
  16. Google it. The answer made me ill.
  17. I will change the question around to what will make it an unsuccessful season? Anything less than 7 wins will make it an unsuccessful season. I expect a 1-3 start with close games, and then to roll through the MAC schedule. There will be a couple of tough losses, but the end result is 7 wins. If we could squeeze out a second OOC win, then we can go 8-4. Adding 40 new players with all of the transfers should immediately transform the roster and culture. I expect that the Zips will be Bowling this year. In Joe We Trust!!!!!! P.S. - LZlp - picking 4-8 wins is a copout. Pick a number in the range and stand by it. You are usually such a good poster, but that range is not an expectation.
  18. Darold would be a fantastic commit. A commit from Roosevelt would show that JoeMo is dominating the MAC recruiting.
  19. what a great post!! As a former D1 baseball player I agree with what you said. However, the general public likes these changes and that means more income for MLB. I have said multiple times that most people could not play above TBall and that is the knowledge level of their sports. These are the people driving these changes. These are the people with Money, and Money drives all decisions!!!!!
  20. Looking at the competition from the offer lists, I would think that Coach JoeMo could get several commitments from the posted list.
  21. Wow!!! What a magnificent sight!!! Go Zips!!!!!!! I cannot wait until the first game.
  22. must be a preview. Akron is not in the end zone.
  23. Wow!! It sure looks fantastic. I cannot wait until the first game and kickoff. I am so proud to be an Akron Alumnus. I have learned to love the new logo. Go Zips!!!
