2009 6-6 2G Nik Garcia

=>Garcia story:

6'6 Nik Garcia from Evanston (H.S.) IL continued to prove that he is one of the nation's best long range shooters. He spots up quickly, has a smooth and quick release, and really moves well without the ball. His strongest part of his game, though, is running the floor and spotting up in the deep corner for threes in transition. Alabama, Michigan, Miami, Akron, and Providence continue to show a high interest in Garcia.

They are showing the AAU Supershowcase from Orlando. You will see their team (Rising Stars of Illinois) play Athletes First (out of Oklahoma). ESPNU will be showing replays at various times throughout the week. Check your T.V. schedules.

Garcia would be a nice addition as that wing that we keep hearing is the last piece to the puzzle. Unfortunatly we only have one scholarship to give for '09 and that one is going to Big Zeke. That is unless the coaching staff knows something about Jimmy Conyers that we don't know.
Or just contingency planning in case he doesn't get his year back.

You know what's weird? Marcus Jordan played here in HI last year, and he looked like an absolutely ordinary player -- maybe a low D-1 or D-2 level player (but he only played maybe 4-5 minutes/game). He also looked like he was just learning the game. I guess he's a late bloomer -- like Dad. ;)
