* U.S. News results -- OU Tier I, Akron Tier IV.
OU is NOT tier 1!!!!!If so, then where's tier 2 because it would seem to go directly from tier 1 to tier 3. USN&WR used to rank only down to 50. That was tier 1. Then, they had a Tier 2 that was grouped together alphabetically, then the tiers 3 and 4 also grouped alphabetically. Since they enlarged numeric rankings down to a little over 120, OU has always been at or near the bottom. While one can argue whether tier 1 is still only the top 50 or the top half of the numerically ranked schools (which would currently put the cutoff at 64), OU is nowhere close. OSU at 53 is arguably near the bottom of tier 1. Miami at 77 is in the middle of tier 2, and OU at 115 is near the bottom of tier 2And watch for UC to pass you shortly. THey're already attracting more very well qualified students (30+ ACT) than OU. They're just being held back at the bottom of the freshmen class by still having largely open admissions. In terms of research and grad programs, they passed OU by a long time ago, and they have a much larger endowment and better fundraising--not to mention the desire of the Cincy business community to build them up.Like I said, watch for UC to climb into the second tier within a couple of years while OU drops down into the 3rd.

Jesus H Christ dude, you are killing me. If you are over the age of 25 you have surely learned, unless you still cling to the world of academia, that in the real world, after your first job interview NOBODY GIVES A SHIT WHERE YOU WENT TO SCHOOL. It's all about what kind of human being you happen to be, how productive, how well you work with others, in the real world. Why exactly do you care where Ohio U is ranked, in anything? Here's a little tip for you: if you're that concerned with the rankings, or the name recognition, of the university you attended, you could have/should have done a HELLUVA lot better than Ohio U. Need I remind you again that if you ask anyone on either coast about Ohio U, they are most likely to ask if you mean Ohio State? There are truly only 15-20 truly prestigious universities in this country, schools that will raise the eyebrows of envy on either coast when their names are uttered. A-hole, Ohio-Freaking-U is NOT one of them. Please, please go away. You are a KILL JOY. This is a SPORTS FORUM, you idiot. STZ

Here's the page summary from US News. Sorry.Ohio UniversityWork Athens, OH 45701Work(740) 593-4100Admissions E-mail: admissions@ohio.edu Web site: http://www.ohio.edu * 115Rank * 37ScoreTier 1College Category:National Universities

The biggest problem is that you keep feeding URANUSASWELL.Look we can all agree that Ohio U was the absolute best school in Ohio in 1806. Since then it has done nothing but fall. The statistics would trend that way. Hell it isn't even as good of a party school as it used to be. So let's all just let it go, we know what OU offers (lackluster athletics, over-hyped academics, and all the chubby sorority girls you can want). And we know what Akron offers (championship athletics, best tech transfer in the state, and the most state of the art campus in the state)
