Both the Golf torunament (all 50 of the world's top 50 golfers will be competing) and the NFL HOF celebration are in town, making this weekend one of only two every year when Akronites can look around, roll their eyes  , and mutter about stupid tourists not knowing their way around town. The other week is the Soap Box Derby weekend where thousands of out-of-towners paint their cars in slogans supporting their kids, making them easy to identify.

Here in the Carolinas, we know tourists by the way they tuck their golf shirts into their jorts.

Here in Ohio we know people are from the Carolinas if they call shorts, jorts.

I also forgot about the LeBron bike-a-thon on Friday (sure to bring in a media circus and some interesting fan interactions) and the Twinfest in Twinsburg bringing in another several thousand. Every hotel room in Summit and Stark Counties will be booked for the weekend.
