A little slow right now on the board. Let's have some fun. One of my favorite memories of living in NE Ohio was making fun of Barberton. Bring out your best Barberton joke(s). Here is mine for the day: Barberton...Where baby strollers are high school graduation gifts.

Barberton...Where baby strollers are high school graduation gifts.

You should up date that to modern times...

Barberton...Where baby strollers are middle school graduation gifts.

Barberton...come for the chicken, stay for the incest.

My dad taught at Barberton High for years, and he loved it, but he always used to say, "Barberton, where the kids are raised on cigarettes and switchblades."

Is "Barbertucky" still what everyone calls that city? Or, has something else become more common? Honestly though, Barberton is not the old Barberton. Many of the people are the same, but they've invested a lot of money into their schools, and build several new buildings. They've also torn down some old factory buildings, and have been converting others to new uses. After decades of decay, they are really doing some great things over there.

Barberton: Apparently the "West Virginia Three R's" are still taught. Readin' Ritin' and Route 21

This forum and social media are perfect examples that most people (general public, prospective students, prospective benefactors, prospective sponsors, not to mention $$ALUMNI$$) do not understand the complete definition of "polytechnic".  That is why the rebranding is a very bad idea. And a PR nightmare.

Not to mention the constantly backpedalling Scarborough, or his son making an ass out of both of them. e5142636.gif

Why don't Barberton residents wear brown? They don't want to be mistaken for UPS trucks.

If you see signs on all of the vending machines that say "This machine does not take pennies", you must be in Barberton. No joke, I saw it today.
