ZachTheZip
I always thought that College Soccer and Baseball should trade seasons. You could have college cups in northern cities, and you could have October college baseball.
Dave in Green
Now wait a minute. You guys need to clear this with GP1, who has already claimed spring for American football.
GP1
Why can't both soccer and MAClike football play in the spring? There are plenty of networks with nothing to show worth watching. We really can't change soccer because it belongs to the world. We would need a UN approval.
Spin
I always thought that College Soccer and Baseball should trade seasons. You could have college cups in northern cities, and you could have October college baseball.Read again. They want soccer to play fall and spring. According to TheSoccerObserver.com, the split-season proposal -- in which college teams would play 25 games spread out over the fall and spring semesters with conference championships held in May and the College Cup in June -- is being finalized by a number of the USA's top college coaches, including, presumably, Yeagley. The coaches are reportedly working to ensure that the schedule will help player/team development without compromising the student-athlete's academic responsibilities.I think it's a great idea. I assume in the north the season would take December January and February off, with the teams playing once a week (which would allow more time for school, and make the game crisper. The pros don't often play twice a week very often). Play non-conference in the fall and conference play in the spring. It would also open up northern schools being able to host the College Cup. The south wouldn't always get home field advantage.
