It's up to him. The areas he needed to work on were mental than physical.

I'd disagree that there isn't a lot he can work on especially if he wants to play professionally somewhere. His ball handling and outside jumper being two off the jump. Did they mention anything about Alex? What are their "true" goals for the season. What do they think of the new MAC deal with ESPN that takes a big dump on basketball? Arena stuff? Anything?????

I didn't say Tree couldn't work on other parts of his game. I said the biggest improvement for him would be to be more mentally tough when things aren't going the way he thinks they should. As far as Alex, it's been pointed out here and elsewhere that his days as a Zip are over. That is an old topic at this point so I'm not sure why you would even ask. The goals for the season are the same as always, to win the MAC and go to the NCAA tournament. This years slogan is "Drive for 5". I'm not sure if the ESPN deal had been released at the time of the golf outing. Keith said he was disappointed that the arena deal was off the ballot but there is no reason we can't be successful at the JAR. He pointed out that we have only lost 20 games in his tenure at the JAR and he thinks we have a great home court advantage . I would suggest that next year you should attend the golf outing and you can ask KD what ever you want. It's a fun event and most of those who attend are diehard fans who have a pretty good idea of whats going on in the program already. They are there for a fun day of golf and interaction with other fans.

Are you for real? I don't live close enough to go to something like that and I can say the same for many others that come on this site. The board depends on people like you to give us any information that they way have heard. Get off your high horse. Unreal. Thank you for providing zero input on the outing.

Really? What more do I need to divulge from my "high horse" to make you happy. Everything I put in my post were direct answers to the questions you asked. I'm sorry you don't live in the area and can't attend the golf outing. I glad that you're a Zips fan, but it's not my job to spill my guts on everything I know about the program. Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger!

Right. That's what Twitter and Facebook are for. Remember when you were little and you used to play the game with your friends..."if you could have any superpower, what would it be?" Remember the numbskulls that used to say "I wish I could read minds?" Well, they got their wish...Twitter and Facebook. Now you could read everybody's worthless mind. Some power.

Zippy5 & DrZ:

The purpose of the golf outing are:

1. Zips basketball program to make $

2. The more mulligan and string that is sold = more $ If you are a purist, send the program some $ & enter the US Open. ;)

3. Have fun with people who care about the program :screwks:

4. Ask questions of the coaches in attendance - just don't expect any inside information.

5. Appreciate the fact that KD is winning at a high percentage and trying to raise the level of the program at an institution with declining financial assets. :wall:

I agree.

However #1 and #3 contradict each other. In terms of money raised I would assume the string and mulligans are a very miniscule percentage of money raised. Good for the program raising more money, but just saying my experience with outings that let you buy string and mulligans turn out to have a lot of bummed out people.

Zippy5 - Contradiction? Zip fans don't want the program to make $ or there aren't enough people who care about the program? I'd say the later is probably true unfortunately. As far as string and mulligans and at the end a lot of bummed out people.....when there is a winner all others are losers by definition, right? Most people participating in a fundraiser understand the point is to donate to the cause; if you happen to win the outing by outspending everyone on string and mulligans then good for the winner and the program. Those who didn't win coulda/shoulda spent more $ so they coulda won! ;)

BTW, at UA there isn't any amount of money to be considered miniscule.
