Michigan Wolverines

These clashes are very physical - every year. There will be more cards than goals, to be sure.

The rain will favor the bigger visitors.

Zips might consider man-marking #17.

Looks like Fenlason (Rancho Bernardo) played in the same league as McAtee (Torrey Pines) in their high school days.

Got a little sloppy when the rain started, but that was probably the most complete game on both the attacking and defensive side of the ball that we have had this season in my opinion.

Does anyone know the status of Souders?

Agreed. Best overall effort this season.

Why did 2Souders exit the match at HT, not to return? Maybe it was that horrendous (stupid) collision with 24Fenlason.

I thought that was Creegan that clashed with Jake. I honestly thought that it was that foul near our bench where it appeared he hit heads for a Michigan player. I guess I could be wrong

@ AK_ZIP90: I actually think that you are right on both accounts, upon further review.

OK.

13Cregan/24Fenlason miscommunication smash-up was right out of the 3 Stooges. Been there, done that, but I felt really dumb after the stars left my eyes.

Cregan will likely cringe when watching the game film.

That is GK's ball, Bryce. Worry about shielding the opposing forward away from your GK.

I know the score differential wasn't as large, but the 2-1 win over Michigan in the 2010 College Cup semifinal on the way to the National Championship was huge!

EDIT: If I remember correctly, this was in the same season as the 7-1 win. Not bad, 9-2 total vs UM that season.

Soccer is one sport in which The University of Akron competes well with all D1 foes. That is the reason why I feel so strongly that the university should not take a chance on letting any other sport utilize FES-CCF. Find other options but don't unduly risk damaging a very successful program.

BTW, attendance was good, especially given the weather forecast. It's fun to watch our Zips beat the B1G. ;)

Time to relax on standing guard over the Zips soccer turf. The Columbus Crew has made it clear they embrace working with the Browns, and apparently Columbus sports fans are not protesting. Makes sense for Cleveland and Columbus to make the direct connection in multiple professional sports, bypassing sports backwaters like Akron where there's more risk of being confronted by angry locals with pitchforks.

Thanks (but no guarantee for short term). Perhaps I can put away my pitchfork; perhaps not.

EDIT: BTW, note they are discussing sharing a training facility, not Crew Stadium. My only argument is and has always been not to use FES-CCF.

RIGHT. My pitchfork is in storage.

I love the Cleveland Browns. I would pay to watch training camp; I have already done so many times.

But I am steadfastly unwilling to grant the Cleveland Browns access to FE/CC. Period.

If "losing" the Browns' Training Camp to Columbus is the only outcome that keeps the Browns off FE/CC, then so be it.

@UA. If you want to host Browns' Training Camp in the future, build that grass practice facility. The Browns will change locations in just a few years; that is part of their plan.
