Dr Z
New video from Grit Media about LeBron’s childhood friend and former HS teammate Romeo Travis who has been playing overseas for the past 8 seasons. The video shows Romeo, LeBron and Dru Joyce shooting around this past summer as Romeo talks about his basketball journey. Let'sGoZips94
I definitely think he and Dru should have their jerseys retired. They were the foundation for what Akron basketball has become.
Z.I.P.
And BTW -- the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame announced its new class today. I looked and was amazed: How in the world isn't Joe Jakubick in the hall? He's in the Czech-AM BB hall of Fame!
Z.I.P.
Another interesting fact about the video: These are three of the four St Vincent-St Mary's players to have their numbers retired by the HS. The OTHER is today celebrating the 30th anniversary of his most famous moment! Bill Rafter made it famous with his words: "Send it in Jerome!" http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/25/sports/ncaabasketball/call-by-espn-broadcaster-bill-raftery-on-dunk-by-jerome-lane-still-reverberates.html
Sergeant Zip
Barberton's own Garrick Sims is a champion. Romeo Travis apparently has been an influence on him.
