Just saw this on the wire a few minutes ago. If he can stay healthy, then he fills a huge neeed for us.

Michaelee Harris' time at the University of Louisville is over, but his college football career will last another year.

Harris, a wide receiver who had an injury-plagued five years at U of L, will play at Akron next season as a graduate transfer after evidently being granted a sixth year to complete his eligibility.

Akron team spokeswoman Cathy Bongiovi confirmed in an email that Harris is enrolled in summer classes and on the Zips' fall roster.

A former four-star recruit from Miami's Northwestern High School, Harris played in 10 games, including five starts, last season, making nine catches for 113 yards and a touchdown.

During his time in Louisville, he tore the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments in both knees, and he missed the entire 2010 and 2012 seasons.

His best season was 2011 – his redshirt freshman year – when he started 12 games and finished second on the team in receptions (37), receiving yards (455) and receiving touchdowns (two).

He had 15 receptions for 195 yards and two TDs in 12 games in 2013 and earned a bachelor's degree that December.

The Crunch Zone's Mark Blankenbaker first tweeted the news that Harris was headed to Akron.
