Long (40+ yards) diagonal balls do not usually have a high success rate.

Those long balls in were inexplicably accurate at ODU. Our CBs must defend better than that. And since then we have done so.

Embick will play the odds and hope to dictate tempo through keeping the high defensive line.

Inexplicably accurate? Sounds like skill to me.

And if the center defenders were out of position, there stepping back to cover the deep diagonal ball opens more space in front of them in the center midfield.

For now, let's close this thing out against UMD!

in person, the long kicks were mind numbingly accurate on that day. The bounces went ODU's way that day but the zips kept on fighting. I like the resolve of these zips.

a smile is appropriate....bring on the undefeated St. Louis team. St. Louis defeated Tulsa in their first game...and Tulsa tied #2 Virginia friday night in charlottesville.

Billikens will be tough....but these zips deserve to celebrate an incredibly successful road weekend
