I think somebody on this site said TB's contract runs through 2017? For a 7-5 season that needs to be extended one season. And, in the future all + 500 seasons and/ or the division championship get another year. A MAC championship gets a 2 year bump. Expectations will be high in 2016.

Since it has been more than 24 hours since the win, I can now honestly give my thoughts:

-The Defense did what it had to do, sort of(I will explain in a moment). Outside of the one big play early, it was a total shutdown. This might be a top 10 Defence Next year!

-The Offense, it scored and ran the ball. they played to the game as an meatgrinder with basically no trick plays. I will take that.

-The Third Quarter: Let's be honest folks, That entire sequence on the goal line was a mess. The only reason the Zips even stayed there was two Pass Interference Calls. Dumb Luck made that historically strange Quarter Happen, but you need that sometimes.

-Missed Opportunities. This comes back to my first bullet point. The Zips, if you discount the Field Goals, left 28 Points on the table from two dropped Interceptions and Two Holding calls in the Red Zone. Unacceptable at any level, and in a Rivalry Game, you just destroy them if given the chance.

We are going Bowling, but to quote Bob Barker "There's still plenty of work to do!"

How about a Luke Getsy bobblehead doll? Understand he is or was working for the Packers? Maybe a Brett Biggs bobblehead. If we are going back to relive the past, lets relive the best season possibly in Akron football history since 1976.

I did hear Steve French make an interesting post game comment on Friday. The topic of the last coaches with winning records at Akron came up. Lee Owens was mentioned since he got fired after going 7-5? French said there was a lot going on backstage on that firing. He also mentioned that maybe they could go into it a little further on down the road.

That said buy those season tix for 2016. Time to win the division.

Wagon Wheel just got a mention in ESPN's "Flipping the field" column by Ryan McGee. Came in at Number 4 under the Rivalry Weekend Trophy Power Rankings:

4. Wagon Wheel -- Can't State vs. Akron: Legend has it that as John Buchtel was searching for the land on which to found the school that would become the University of Akron, his wagon got bogged down in the mud and a wheel broke off. He moved on, but the spot where the spokes stuck is where Can't State now sits. The Zips rolled (get it?) over the Golden Flashes on Friday.

The East just got a little easier to win with the departure of Dino Babers.

BG's next coach will be walking into a pretty nice situation.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, one of the most impressive things to watch yesterday was Zach Paul hitting back to back (due to offsetting penalties) rugby-style punts to the goal-line late in the game. Both punts were perfect, but the second one was amazing to watch hit, spin, and stick right at the goal-line. Awesome. It was great to see players off the bench come out to congratulate the special teams. This team really seems to have fun with each other.

MAC specialist of the week. Congrats Zach.
