I don't know that. Maybe you're right.  All I can see is that both At-Large play-in games have been between 11 Seeds the last few years.

2014 had 2 12 seeds play in Dayton. More times than not the play-in games are 11 vs. 11 because there are so few 1 bid conferences that have teams that get seeded above at-large teams.

Not all 11s are at-larges. We could play ourselves up to an 11 and still be an auto-bid

Upon further examination, you are right.  Only 2 of the 11 seeds have to "play in" to get to Thursday.  The other two 11 seeds are already in the Thursday/Friday brackets.

So, it's really a 50/50 chance that you have to play-in if you are an 11 seed.

Well, I'll be darned.  One of the play-in games that year was indeed a 12/12 game.

Alright.  Time for me to take a break from this tournament maze.  My head is spinning :P

If I was to make a list of the top 10 teams I didn't want to play round 1, WVU would make that list.

Who are the other 9?

I am sure Huggins is saying the same about us. :D

For me, the nightmare part of that scenario is playing IN Buffalo. While convenient for traveling Zips fans, Canada is a house of horrors for us. I don't expect that to be any different in the NCAAT.

We'd be lucky to catch the "4 seed" Mountaineers. And by that I mean at their best, they are more of a 2 seed in my opinion.

If we did draw them, I'd want some Level A trolling from the Zips. Bring something to remind them of their incredible choke job the other night in Lawrence.

The way they can play such stifling pressing defense could bring back nightmares of the 2013 VCU game.  After a 4 year absence from the tournament, I can certainly think of many that who would provide better chances of a victory for us.

But, it would get some good attention with Huggins' Akron and Ohio connection.

I'm sure it's a mistake, but it's interesting Akron isn't in all capital letters, which designates auto bid winners.
