ZachTheZip
Don't know if anybody saw, but they took a wrecking ball to the Grant Street dorm today. The townhouses are gone, too. Hard to imagine anything but another large dorm building going up in that space.
zippy5
Pretty sure those things were vacant in like 2008, surprised they were still standing
Balsy
I think the big new dorm they built, South Hall, where the Plasma center used to be, across from the exchange deck, was always supposed to replace the Grant Dorm and Gallucci. Both have not been in operation in years.

kreed5120
Probably more high priced student apartments going in. No better way of fixing the student debt crisis sweeping this nation than charging $3000 a month for a 4 bedroom apartment to students making minimum wage.

I'ts a good thing there is a freedom of choice. Plenty of cheap housing available directly off campus. Even worse with money they can "borrow". Edited November 17, 2017 by kreed5120

And South Dorm is where the Town Houses mostly were? I can't remember now...and that wasn't long ago... The most popular Exchange St. club at the time.

ZippyRulz
Are we going to pay the new baseball coach or will it be a volunteer position?

But I still think an Akron alum like him should come back from the enemy.
72 Roo
I do too. I'd like to see a former Zip ace rebuild our program.
Z.I.P.
How about his catcher? Oh, I guess he's busy in Pittsburgh now. Sorry!
ZippyRulz
Now that I'm looking at the trustee meeting minutes, the immediate plan for the Grant dorm site is just to create green space. Cost almost $600K to abate and demolish. Edited December 24, 2017 by ZippyRulz
