A bit of positivity - there are a few players missing, so who knows how they will be ranked by 247,  and whatever your opinion is on rankings, for whatever reason, they seem to generally correlate with who the top teams in the conference are.

With that said, we are currently ranked 10th in MAC (above Ohio and Buffalo) in cumulative team score. That ranking is driven by the individual ranking of players as well as the number of players in the class. Only looking at the ranking of players, we have the second highest average in the conference at 82.7 behind Toledo's 83.17 and just above Ohio's 82.59.  Let's hope the staff can finish filling the class as good as they started it and that should be a good sign down the road....

Excellent.  I've always been more concerned with quality over quantity.  So the fact we're #2 in the conference in average player rating carries much more weight than the cumulative score, IMO.  I don't remember us ever having so many 3-star recruits.

FOXNews: Ohio facing troubling trends when it comes to prep football

Article stating Ohio high school football isn't quite what it used to be.  Declining number of youth participating in football compounded by the fact that Ohio is one of the slowest-growing states in the country.

...But Ohio also has one of the slowest-growing populations of any state and there are other troubling numbers: The number of high school football players in Ohio dropped by 28% from 2009-10 to 2018-19, according to data tracked by the National Federation of State High School Associations, and NCAA stats show the percentage of Ohio players competing at the highest level of college football has slipped from 5.9% in 2013 to 5.1% in 2018.

That's still enough to rank fifth among the 50 states, but fourth-place Georgia has pulled away and states such as Louisiana (sixth) and Alabama (eighth) have gained on Ohio over the last 10 years.

Hmm, and there was another tweet with four recruits from the same JUCO (I think it was Butler CC) touring campus.  Can't seem to find it now.  Anyway, Teon Dollard is a 6-0, 215 RB from Independence CC & looks really good; big, quick and fast.  Here is his 2019 highlight video from 247 Sports dot com.

Isiah Childs is helping us recruit Teon.

These are the four recruits from Butler C.C. who were definitely on campus last weekend.

Woodbendy Guerrier, DB, 6-0, 195

Eric Scott, DB, 6-2, 200

Nazir Sy, DL, 6-3, 306

George Qualls, WR, 6-2, 190

Looks like Butler & Indy filled a bus and came to UA looking for second chance or last chance if its Indy. Need some of Buddy’s boys from East MS.

Will be interested to see if we take advantage of the transfer portal or kids de-committing due to coaching changes. We did not utilize the transfer portal at all last year or this year thus far. The key I think - at least right now - should be immediate eligibility, however.
