Most interesting part to me: In the offseason, Bowden brought in former St. Vincent-St. Mary coach Marcus Wattley to coach defensive ends. Wattley, they said, brings with him experience and techniques they’d not used before. “He’s really like a specialist in teaching you to play with your hands and how to get around offensive linemen with speed,” Reinke said. I am interested in what those techniques are. 1
CDMac
@Blue & Gold and @Dr Z - I was just about to post a link to this article. It was a good read. Based on what I've seen so far, that DL looks to be a very valuable piece to this year's team. Bunch of maulers! As far as techniques go, looks like he's trying to round out their skill sets and not just rely on brute force: Quote Davis welcomes the change. “I just feel like we’ve got to attack more, mix it up, do different moves and not just bull rush all the time, and I think we’ll get to the quarterback more,” he said. Quote “He’s really like a specialist in teaching you to play with your hands and how to get around offensive linemen with speed,” Reinke said. So some dips and rips, maybe a spin or two. Maybe the ol' Deacon Jones head slap? Edited August 15, 2018 by CDMac 1
CDMac
Just saw this on Twitter. Looks like season tix holders will have a UGIII memento.

Iowa State just gives us a sheet of tickets. And once you tear them all off and use them, you have nothing left but the mailing address label. I like having tickets bound like this. Classy. Jealous. CDMac
I got mine late last year (first time having them) and they just came as individual tickets in an envelope with the parking passes for lot 9, some wrist bands for pregame field access, and some concessions vouchers. I'm not sure if this "booklet" is new or if they've been like that in years past. One of the longer tenured fans will have to chime in on that. Captain Kangaroo
Sophomore Alex Ramart? Overall, good reporting by George this August. Wonder why?
LZIp
I can't believe Reinke was moved to TE. Starting (and sound) DE to TE where he might not even play much. I don't think we are really as thin as GT makes us out to be. You have Newman (although oft injured), Wolfley, Junk, and possibly Johns. I interpret it as meaning Sampson, Brady, and possibly Meeks are looking good.

Dr Z
Kirk Herbstreit picks his favorites for the 2018 season, from superstars to coaches, hotels and restaurants, plus predictions for conference champions. His best tandems include Tyree Jackson/Anthony Johnson, Buffalo. He picks Ohio over Northern Illinois and calls Buffalo his sleeper in the MAC. Kirk is close, but I'm hoping that someone else will be throwing to Anthony Johnson!

Have you heard any reports about how that someone is doing in the QB rotation up in Buffalo?

Last I heard, Kyle was the #2 QB for Buffalo. Almost all of the news reporting talks exclusively about Jackson throwing to Johnson (with vague references about "if Jackson can stay healthy"), but nothing about backups.
