Captain Kangaroo
The Zips defense gets a bit of a boost this fall with the return of DL Devonte Jest, LB James King and Andy Jean Baptiste (6' 4" 270 lb DL). All three were at Hutchinson JC last season. Release 3
Blue & Gold
Excellent news! Adding a 3-star LB & 2 DL (Jest being a 300-pounder). Jean-Baptiste's highlight show him playing DE (he can really move for a man his size!), but at 270-pounds, he could also play some much-needed DT. Dr Z
Great news. Two positions that need some depth.
kreed5120
The defense can certainly use the help.
LZIp
Updated Scholly chart Looks like 2 scholly's left at most now. I think these guys back not only address some potential depth issues this season (and add potential starter talent as I like what I've seen from Jest and King - can't speak much of Baptiste), but will also allow younger guys to not be thrown into the fire if they aren't ready in 2019, as my concerns over depth at DL and LB are well documented on this site. Just stay eligible fellas.. This was some good news to wake up to today! 94zipgrad
This is good news, we return most of our defense & can use some depth on DL to keep them fresh, I know we gave up some big points last year but I’m hopeful the D can be good & give the offense a chance to catch up, there will be a lot of new faces on offense this year

Cykron
Hutchinson CC is an amazing source of D1 players. The State of Kansas has an incredibly disproportionate amount of top JUCO players. Iowa State's QB who beat Oklahoma in Norman and Memphis in Memphis for the LIberty Bowl, Kyle Kempt from Masillon, sat the bench at Hutchinson! I'll bet a lot of schools were after your three guys. Nice job getting them to Akron. Edited February 27, 2018 by Cykron
